Edgy MD

Oh, Edgin had appeared to escape the eighth unharmed when he got Dirks to pop in foul ground, but catcher Rob Johnson dropped the ball.

Yum. Love those ties.

Top nine. Two out single by Baxter. Chance for redemption coming for Flores.

And Josh Edgy yields the tying run --- unearned by him, thanks to an error by Wilmer Flores.

Daniel Ray Herrera gave up a walk and a hit in his one shutout inning.

Za' Klutz is on to pinch-hit for Thole. OE: WOOOSH! He goes down.

A strikeout and a walk in his inning. I believe his was the first of the "Ex in 11" threads last year. (The correct answer was... nuttin'.)

Josh Stinson gets raked for three runs in his inning. Armando Rodriguez on with a "Hey, remember me?"

My team fights the hell back. What does your team do?

We're at 3-1, Tigers leading, after four. Niese struck out four in his three innings, but the Tigers bunched a batch of singles in the third an picked up three runs. Mets got their run on a two-out RBI double by Nickeas. Ronny Cedeo has logged an error at short.

No flipping the image!

Ah, the old "two drinks" defense. Might as well stick your head in a noose.

That's a lot of questions. My issue: is this related to the broken back?

You're eluding me. Nitwisof?

I'm hoping Johnson pitches less than Santana this year. But hoping for injuries to the opposition isn't a way to get ahead.

Finally framed and on the wall.

Error on Loewen last inning. Adam Loewen, folks. Get to know him.

Schwinden. It'd be curious if he really hurt Stanton. Maybe it's good that Wright and Davis aren't in the lineup today.

Four pitch walk Ramirez, and Santana gets lifted after 42. Schwinden on to face Stanton. Two out, bags juicy.

But Thole picks up Loewen with a single. Sure you want to play with these guys, Jose?

Josh Satin, who gakked in the big spot yesterday, plates Bay (not Loewen) with a sacrifice fly. Mets up 1-0.
