And a manager who reserves Francisco for saves --- not that I have much more hope for him than Acosta, but still.

There's certainly a clear and growing case against continuing with Collins, but I'm not sure what a "results-oriented manager" is. As opposed to what?

It's hard to win when you don't score.

The Tri-State Ford Sales Drive is going on NOW!!!!

Hairston pinch-hitting with two out. I mighta gone to Bay. And Hairston hits it to the wall but Thole stops at third.

I believe that too. But it's like it's war if you ain't his guys up there. That's a tough sell. And it's not like Pedroia is a lump of oversalaried dead wood, but he is having a bad year. Sending around mocking pictures of your boss is not cool under any circumstances.

Zvon wrote: GAHshitfrak! And I think Dave got his foot in there too. Tom Goodwin patted him on the ass before that steal attempt. Just sayin'.

Well, that's a fun way to end an inning.

I'm pretty sure Parnell's pitches, Paul's restraint, and Reynolds' judgment resulted in the walk.

Cairo at first is preferable to Votto at first. Just my opinion.

Damn. Fourteen of fourteen stranded through seven. That. Is hard. To sustain.

Gulp.

He beat him off the plate away. Now a single by Frazier makes it first and third, two outs. Pinch-hitting for Valdez. Xavier Paul... do they pitch to him?

Up and in, Bobby. Up and in. You're the weapon, not Bruce.

Let's shut these Reds down, Bobby Pee.

CALL IT AN INNING

Leadoff hit for Thole. Should've double switched on Ramirez.

Wow.

Out of the inning. Strike now, Mets.

I'd rather this didn't become a battle of the bullpens.

Mets Who Were Reds Miguel Cairo backs up first and second. Wilson Valdez backs up short, third, and center. Rick Sweet is their catching coordinator. If their catching looks uncoordinated this week, blame Rick Sweet. Other things worth noting: Their bullpen is loaded, led by Chapman. Their minor leagues include the comet known as Billy Hamilton.
