  1. Wow, that's the sort of hard-core unemployable maniac attending on third-hand tickets that you ran into at Art Howe games.
  2. The thing about Terry is that he's out of ideas. It happens to every manager at some point, but some are protected by the talent their GM gives them --- Joe Torre, Ron Washington. Terry's either got to resign or he's got to spend some time on an ashram coming up with new ideas, because the old ones have gotten him as far as they're gonna get him. That blog about his quest for a second lefty physically hurt me. "Second lefty" may soon become the sort of "cleaning woman!" trigger phrase for me that "eighth-inning guy" has been.
  3. In case you were wondering, this infant is currently around 26 years of age. If this is you, once infant, please contact Grantland.com, immediately Toby Froud:
  4. God bless small-town journalism --- even if it does come from a Gannett paper. That article doesn't mention the word baseball until paragraph nine.
  5. Met Hunter usually arrives with this sort of news. Very sorry to hear, but I sort of hope I die mowing the neighbor's lawn.
  6. Don't bunt no more, JV. For pity's sake!
  7. Or three and done. That's good, too. Ptui.
  8. Time for a little glory, Thole.
  9. Know what else is very catchable? The Rockies are very catchable.
  10. Cripes, two outs down and they walk Sugar. Only Met rook to fan more in his debut --- Harvey.
  11. Don't bunt, JV. I DON'T CARE WHAT THE SIGN SAYS!
  12. No way! Mets rock on Thursdays!
  13. Last inning for Coalhouse. Make it count.
  14. Note that Baxt wasn't pinch-hit for against the lefty.

Finally someone with whom Wright can share his wildly enthusiastic view of life. And Tidewater roots. She's a Virginia Beacher.

The real important topic, of course, is whether the black women watching and attending approve of her hair. Not much to worry about. I mean, sheesh, t's hard enough to get the core demographic of fat white dudes out to Citi.
  19. Collin's missing high.
  20. Valdespin has reached base 45 times and stolen seven bases. Ruben Tejada has reached base 124 times and stolen one. Let's keep the horses in the barn.
  21. How long has he been our leadoff batter? Like six minutes? OE: It's his second game there.
  22. McHugh pitches out of a scoring situation in the first. Nice.
  23. Not the attendance hoped for at ceremonial first pitch.
  24. I'm Met #938, Collin McHugh. Bringing it this afternoon against the Rockeries. What?
