  1. A lot of great outfield catches against the Mets of late.

I fear R.A. has become a financial luxury to these owners at this point and will be dispatched somewhere. Upside? You get Wright for 8 years or so. Its' really kind of sad... Prediction archives.
  3. Really? I wouldn't blame the voters for not putting too much stock in it, but I see entering a game you're not supposed to be in as being very different from fleeing a game you are supposed to be in. He came out of the pen for an inning in game 161 in 2010, just 'cuz he could. Anyhow, looks like he's expected to go Tuesday, so it's unlikely to happen.
  4. Tom Willis (shown last week in Detroit), threw out the first pitch today. He also has no UCL.
  5. Skipping Dickey against the Marlins? Might as well rip a win from his record. He's got a Respected Award to win. As I said earlier, I would be surprised to see him start Monday and grab an inning or two of relief on Wednesday if it would give him a chance to grab an extra win.

This is the team's lowest home attendance since 2.19 million at Shea Stadium in 2003. ... Mets broadcaster Keith Hernandez shaved off his mustache before the game in a charity fundraiser. .... Game note guy tacked a million poeple on to the 2011 attendance.
  8. Doug sets a new league record striking out nine straight big league batters. Yeah, it's the Royals in September, but it counts for everybody else, so it counts for Doug F. Fister. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/gametracker/recap/MLB_20120927_KC@DET/firstplace-tigers-walk-off-with-w-over-royals Tom Seaver's record remains safe.
  9. Pretty landmarky series: Ike Davis joins the 30-homer club; R.A. Dickey joins the 20-win club, and David Wright sets the all-time franchise hit mark in between. Had a reasonable chance at a four-game sweep, too.
  10. And I hope the Mets approach with an offer to shoot three more seasons.
  11. Baseball is a reality show.

  13. Why is McCutchie out?
  14. Waity minny... McCutcheon is out of the game?
  15. Parnell vs. McCutcheon. Oh, oh, my.
  16. Heart of the order coming up.
  17. Regurgitating Actively!
  18. Grouchy Rauchie to start the ninth. Walks the first dude on 11 pitches. I wonder if we have eight guys warming in the pen.
  19. Edgy MD

    Hi,

He seemed pretty flat to me as a Nats announcer, too. Keith's so intimidating, he keeps other guys on their toes.
  20. Who comes out to start the ninth here?
  21. Edgy MD

    Hi,

    ABG definitely had another handle.
  22. Don't forget innings, baby.
  23. Barajas sends it to the fence, to the fence.
  24. And R.A., I suspect, may get a bonus relief outing at the end.
  25. Unfortunately, with 111 pitches gone, that's probably it for him with two innings to go and a three-run lead to protectorate.
