All of vt's points ran through my head too. But obviously, that's not the way managers play it.

Drew Henson recently rejoined the Yankees as a minor league coach.

Top ten Mets non-pitchers with regards to WAR, as measured by BB-R. Go.

Despite what I wrote implied the other thread, Mike and Corey did not get camp invites with their contracts, and will head straight to minor league camp to work out with the Travis Taijerons and the ZeErika McQueens.

He and Hamilton were in the same class of uber-outfielders that you had better get the autographs of NOW!!! Back then. Contemporaries of Alex Escobar, for that matter.

Mets sign Mike Wilson and Corey Patterson, who's totally cuter than Cory Lidle and Cory Sullivan (the latter of whom I had totally forgotten existed until just this moment). http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/02/mets-sign-corey-patterson-mike-wilson.html

Harvey.

Former D-Backs pitching dude (went 8-0 in 2011) signs with the Nats --- as a firstbaseman. Has gone .283 / .310 / .502 // .812 hitting as a pitcher, but has done some serious damage to his elbow. If he can learn how to take a pitch, he might be capable. Maybe that low isolated OBP may in part be a byproduct of the situations he's found himself in, though I suspect it's almost always a good idea for a pitcher to be restrained with the bat.

Boom!

People get around good laws through loopholes also, and oft with loopholes that are far sillier than the law. And in this case, the proposed loophole usage appears to be a rather dubious interpretation of the loophole. Which is rather my point.

Whatever it be, I just love these multi-millionaires doing the most important business of their lives with guys who keep their financial records in pencil.

Ah, yes, Floyd King was a flamboyant Shakespearean actor popular in DC around the same time Ray was coming out of the RFK pen for the Nats. I conflate. You can understand my confusion.
