  1. Niuewenhuis whiffs in the ninth, the way he does. Edgin on to close out and Stros get an infield hit to Phil Evans and an error by Evans as well. First and second, no out. Houston pinch-bunting.
  2. Tovar plates R.J. Harris in the eighth and we're looking to close out in the ninth.
  3. This is too strange.
  4. Mets take the home game against the amateurs, 5-2. Wilmer Flores homers. In the away game, the Mets are tied against the newly American Leagued Houston Astros. Jeurys Familia coughs up a three-run league and it's 6-6 in the seventh.
  5. No women? All white guys too. Is this a recording studio or a golf club? Seriously, you had me at Cronin.
  6. Jamie Hoffman just came back from New York cleared to play after being dinged for an irregular EKG. I'm sure Feliciano will be OK. He just needs to get the zombie virus he picked up in Tampa last year out of his system. Or... I could be wrong. Been known to happen. Pedro Feliciano OK, awaits clearance Updated: February 23, 2013, 4:15 PM ET By Adam Rubin | ESPNNewYork.com PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- New York Mets left-handed reliever Pedro Feliciano has been diagnosed with a small "hole" in the exterior of his heart, the southpaw said Saturday morning upon returning to camp. Feliciano said he feels fine, the issue is not life-threatening and surgery was not brought up as an option. Feliciano, who said he had an irregular heartbeart, will wear a heart monitor for a few days. He has yet to be cleared to resume baseball activities. Feliciano had been dispatched to New York for further testing after his initial physical was flagged. He underwent an MRI. "They said they found out some little hole in my heart," Feliciano said. "I've never felt nothing in my heart, so it's surprising to me." Feliciano, who is in camp on a minor league deal, said he was not alarmed. He said he had never previously been diagnosed with anything similar. "No, no, no," he said. "They said everything was right, fine -- just there was a little hole outside the heart." Manager Terry Collins said there is concern about the heart issue being serious. "My understanding is he has a heart condition that could possibly be very serious. So that's why we're being very, very careful with him," Collins said. "Until we get further results on some of the tests he took in New York, he's not to be on the field."

  17. Wheeler will pitch IF the weather's perfect, I imagine. Orange dudes are guys with options? The hand of Davy Johnson?

  19. I got this notion that Milwaukee, in sore need of a firstbaseman, would come calling for Murphy, freeing up second, but they don't seem to be a match --- no outfield parts or starting pitching to spare. I doubt they'd give him up for Gomez or Aoki. I'm not sure what the quotes around "they" are meant to imply, but I'm certain the team has discussed and will continue to discuss the possibility of Flores as a corner outfielder.
  20. Yay, young Mets without positions!
  21. John Harper ?@NYDNHarper Going on Daily News Live to talk about Santana's now-delayed spring training. Probably more to it than Mets are saying.
  22. Wow, that guy's too young. I link him to Sergio Ferrer Both from Puerto Rico (Sergio from Santurce, Mario from Yauco). Both noodle bats. Sergio rode the tidewater shuttle whenever an infielder went down in 1979. Ramirez rode it in 1980. Only Ramirez had a magic afro, though. Any available report? How and where did he die?
  23. LaTroy Hawkins yields three-run, first-inning homer to Wilmer Flores . METS LOSE! Wilmer Fores slugs three-run, first-inning homer off of LaTroy Hawkins. METS WIN!
  24.
