Yeah, even his takes are getting impressive. Even when he hasn't been going good this year, the inside slider, which had been destroying him for much of the last two seasons, hasn't been getting him, and pitchers are not longer using it so liberally against him.

I didn't think Jeff McNurkles had any business going first to third on that hit, but Merrill made a weak throw and it was cut off. He went to the scouting meeting and I didn't, and now they get the early lead on a sacrifice fly thanks to his baserunning.
