  1. My main problem is wondering if both runners slid past the catcher and the plate in exactly the same manner due to some sort of strategic instruction, whether coming down from Goodwin, Collins, Jeffpon, or whoever --- either in deference to the new rule somehow or in deference to the culture of risk consciousness that helped launch the rule. Because I'm no contact-monger, but those slides were unsatisfying to watch, from this fans perspective. The most dramatic time of the game, and I'm watching players playing like redshirts in a practice game.
  2. It's been a while. I wouldn't be shocked if Leiter himself heard the story second-hand and nonethless has come to accept it as fact, and believe he was there. Again, it's just too perfect, and, well, ballplayers can be like that. 'Specially ones who talk for a living.
  3. You see, Koehler?! You see what you get when you mess with the Mets?!!

David made the decision to stay and he may well be one angry dude this season... If' he's just starting to "wise up," he's the thickest player in history. The Wright-as-victim angle has been playing for about five years now.
  5. Stupidest difference in the game has to be the bare-handy crap.
  6. God, fellas, somebody touch the plate tonight. Ozuna, you're the PotG.
  7. THAT ONE I question a bit.
  8. Cishek seemingly throwing harder than the last time I remember him.
  9. Knieuwie knows late-inning drama.
  10. Recker/Tejada/Nieuwenhuis in the ninth.
  11. Teufel needs to answer for that call. Wright, though... did he slide past the plate because he quit on the play or because he was deferring to his understanding of the noo rools or something?

  13. Dumbest challenge of the year.
  14. Oh, dear. He was so utterly out.
  15. Campbell: Gutsy call here by Terry.
  16. That was a double in no ways known to man. Eric Young, you probably shouldn't have been swinging 2-0, but now the tying run is up, and I'll take it.
  17. Chris Young, that walk was a monument.
  18. God gave you a glove for a reason, boy.
  19. Lots of defensive stupidity. Stop pressing, men.
  20. Ant'ny messed up there, but I'm not sure why Young quit on the play so early.
  21. This is so winnable. Or tie-able. Very tie-able.
  22. That's totally Jeffy's MO. Guy wouldn't know a null object if it hit him between the eyes.
