  1. K to Desi. Two outs and Ramos up. Him or den Dekker? Who do you want?
  2. Bringing in the infield with a 10 lead? OH, yeah.
  3. DON'T go testing deGrom's defense.
  4. If all we need is to get Murphy to make contact, and Murphy won't make contact, life is hard. But HEY! Flores breaks through and picks him up. That's the name of it. Pick some suckas up.
  5. "Good news is the Mets have a runner at second. The bad news is... the Mets have a runner at second." Josh Lewin
  6. Eighteen batters through three innings.
  7. Tuning in at 0-0 feels like we're winning somehow.
  8. I would mow Terry's lawn if he'd just once try Granderson in a run-producing spot.
  9. Heyman is reporting the Mets have not ruled out promoting Conforto, and while I'm certainly willing to wait until his promotion is self-justifying rather than justified by the state of the team I imagine it would be a big wet blanket on team morale, to say nothing of fan morale, if Cuddyer hit the DL followed by news that Darrell Ceciliani was en route. Sorry, No-Gloves-Guy, you know it's true. (Doesn't mean it won't happen.) But Heyman's report sort of changes the conversation from an if to a when, suggesting a callup is inevitable, and perhaps likely before the roster expansion. So, just as with Matz, give me a when the date of the Conforto MLB World Premier. An honest-to-goodness date, man, not a window. 11. I guess the gross part then would be that they jumped in the pool.

I'm really surprised by this sarcasm. Does anybody else think this is remotely controversial? The guy went 1-3 with a walk. Compared to the Lucas Duda of that we've gotten since the spring became the summer, this is a really good game. That like Desmond, Duda hasn't been playing as well as one might have projected, almost like he's another guy.
  13. don't smoke crack, but Campbell still sucks. Well, tell it to the guy pushing Goeddel at first.

  15. Yeah, that worked out for them last night. As did the Taylor-for-Span thingie. Terry starting Lucas Duda in place of Lucas Duda still remains a bust.
  16. I'm willing to write off yesterday as a travel-day-following-an-extra-inning-marathon letdown, IF you take the next two.
  17. I'm not particularly speaking about the offseason. Nor am I particularly speaking about the lack of dingers, so much as the lack of any sort of big league production at all for the last 45 games.
  18. Such lazy batboys they have in New Britain.
  19. The Clones were down 4-1 in the eighth before Brandon Brosher broshed a three-run shot before Brooklyn ended up walking off in the ninth over Vermont. Brandon is slumping like a Met though, hitting .214 along with an otherwise healthy .320 OBP and .320 and .500 slugging percentage. You get those sorts of weird disparities 15 games into your season. Know who's not slumping? Vinny Siena. Somebody adopt that guy.
  20. A shorter night of it, anyhow. Tomorrow. You'll get yours tomorrow.
  21. This game might be within reach of a single swing right now, I lament, if not for that Desmond homer.
  22. Blumb. No time to end an 0-17 slump, Ian Desmond.
  23. Steiner Sports. As if the WOR sponsorship base couldn't get any scummier.
