That's some serious stuff. Or, at least, it can be an indicator of some serious stuff.

Mets down by one. Wilmer playing first made a handsome shovel pass to Gilmartin, in a play that highlighted both his dextrous hands and his not-so-nimble feet.

Mets load the bases in the second but come up MT.

Re-acquire Tejada NOW!!!!

More likely the boogie fever. I think it's going around. Mike F. Puma wrote: Harvey celebrated his 27th birthday Sunday and team officials were originally wary the righty had partied too much when he called in sick Monday morning. But after Harvey described his symptoms to the team’s medical staff, he was sent for examination by a doctor.

Sure, but the nature of predictions is the implicit and outrageous claim that you see all the contingencies and so can envision the most likely outcome, as dependent as it may be on innumerable factors. A lot of things may happen, but the wheel is spinning. Chips-on-the-table time.

Hard not to think of this as the most ominous thing.

Sure!

I'll do any and all Miami series.

Not a lot of faith in Erik. I'm fascinated by Teutonic relief pitchers. I say he does alright but has trouble staying healthy. And when he starts getting high-leverage situations, his numbers fall off. 55 games. 3.17 ERA. 9.4 SO/IP. 2.9 BB/IP.

Or sac flies. Or bases-loaded walks.

I wasn't given a whole lot of high-leverage situations last season. The only exception was for about two weeks there when the three headed closer of Familia-Mejia-Parnell failed to materialize, and Parnell's marginalization and Mejia's banishment gave me a handful of hot innings until the team muscled up on relievers before and after the trade deadline. But you can't say I didn't get the job done when called on. Oh, no, you can't! Two years running, when the Mets have needed me, I've gotten it done. Unless you watched the playoffs. You didn't watch the playoffs, did you? TELL ME you didn't watch the playoffs. Anyhow, NLDS aside (I think I was left off of the NLCS and WS rosters), it looks like I'm breaking camp this year with a job to lose. Will I lose it? You tell me. I golf with Chase Utley. You're cool with that, right?

I prefer the opposite field with a Wright homer. Any Hessman can pull one.

The standard is to put any memories thread up once a guy joins another organization. He might have asked for his release upon being delivered news of his cut. He may even have had a clause compelling the Mets to grant him a release upon request.

I was a Rule V grab. And while the Mets prepared to carry me through the season, I kinda carried my own weight. Do THAT, Rocky Cherry! That's right, I put up a 3.50 ERA. and I re-wrote the book on wearing stirrups. Plus, the Mets got the Rule V guy they lost back. HERE'S TO THE RULE V, GUYS!! Anyhow, all that noise doesn't necessarily mean there's room for me this year, and they no longer have to carry me to keep me. Here's where the rubber hits the road, folks. What's it gonna smell like? For a while, this film was trailer'd before everything I saw. The themes seemed appealing, but the music and the digital feel of the cinematography kind of made it feel inauthentic to me. It seems to me, a film about cobbling some shit together and roughing it should feel a little more cobbled together and rough. That's my review of the trailer, anyhow.

Curse of Tejada continues.

Biondi grounds out to end the rally. Dog of a day for Patrick Biondi.

Adapting to the apparent intention to go with a six-man bullpen, the first week, which seems only wise. They probably could manage with three. Also to the reported likelihood of Asdrubal Cabrera being ready for opening day. Also putting in cuts from last week that weren't announce at Mets.com, as well as cuts from earlier today. I'm digging Campbell's new, clean-shaven face. Monell beats out the DP grounder! Game tied!

Torres very nibbley and the Mets have runners on the corners with one out. Johnny Monell at the plate.

Carlos "The Bull" Torres on for the save for Atlanta, leading 3-2. MarKrauss leads off for the Mets.

A single to right dribbles through Taijeron's legs. Lackadaisical stuff is hard to shake, man. Pickoff throw goes into centerfield. A sacrifice fly and the tie goes blub. Some guy named "Derrick Gibson" at third for the Mets. GameDay seems to think it's the "Derrick Gibson who last played in the bigs in 1999 with Colorado. I have my doubts.

Six plus innings and two runs for deGrom. We need these Biondis to provide some offense. The Braves' pitching stinks.

And now it's 2-2 in the seventh. I sure would like the Mets to bag this one. They're winless since releasing Ruben Tejada.
