  2. Yeah, relax. With your facts and whatnot. It's just a thread.

They just did it piecemeal throughout the year, rather than shut him down at a pre-set limit. They didn't limit Harvey like Strasburg was limited. Harvey's load or limit was re-calibrated or adjusted once it became apparent that the Mets were post-season bound. Otherwise, that big Boras/Harvey/Alderson blowout would never have happened. You could think what you want, but in my mind, the Wilpons are exploiting the shit out of Harvey, and might have already jeopardized his future for an immediate payday. TBD This is weird and totally meta. Are you arguing with yourself here?

Yes, I made it abundantly clear that it was different. You left out any information suggesting anything at all was done for Harvey. That just isn't true. The main difference was that the Mets decided all bets were off for the post-season, and the Nats decided otherwise. That's a value judgment, but I certainly supported the Mets decision. And I don't loathe any player that doesn't fall in line like a slave.
  5. No, the Mets limited Harvey's workload all season. They just did it piecemeal throughout the year, rather than shut him down at a pre-set limit.
  6. I'd certainly support that, but I think the Mets are going to be more deliberate. I wonder how many more starts he'll get though. I definitely think they see Reynolds as part of this team.
  7. Good point. Is.
  8. Things are coming to a head. Flores has seven days left on the DL. Maybe he does a day or two of a rehab assignment just to get his confidence and his stroke back. The key is to see if Reynolds can show his merit before then. Maybe he gets a start or two at shortstop in the interim.
  9. Could there be two more different games? Tuesday: quick, efficient, with German precision, and studied execution. Wednesday: long, sloppy, slogging, almost like the athletes were brought in from another sport and were largely unfamiliar with this baseball thing. How could these be the same two teams?
  10. No, no... the scoreboard should be announcing how that game blew chunks.
  11. AND... my winning streak ends at one.
  12. Hey, one of those doubles I've been hearing about.
  13. Ten walks. In a game started by Colon. Tough night.
  14. You know it's a rally when Campy is hitting.
  15. Winner finishes the night in first. Loser in third.
  16. Hey, when did we re-sign Mike Pelfrey?
  17. You simply can't be laying a 3-1 change-up in there for Cspedes.
  18. Four walks? Maybe that child support case IS getting to him.
  19. Wow! What size are Terry's hands? Meanwhilst, Bartolo goes scoreless through the tricky first two innings.
  20. Niuman Romero, too damn old (31) for AA, was called up to AAA this morning and given the last spot on the 51s roster.
  21. I think those are both more or less fine ideas. The Binghamton Cavemen. The Binghamton Cartoonists. Binghamton has been trying to brand itself as Carousel Town for decades. My wife is one of the rare birds who would actually get off the parkway to visit a carousel, and we found them mostly to be county fair quality — built to be packed up and moved, rather than fixtures. The Nunley's carousel was better than all or most of them.
  22. >>> Go with variations of classick coin-op joystick video games. "Everybody keep your eyes on the big board where Julio from Park Slope is playing Mike Tyson's Punch Out! Tonight, Julio will be fighting... Rougned Odor! Take it away, Julio!"
  23. It would just be so awesome if the Mets totally zagged when the rest of the league zigged on shit like character races. > "Hey, fans! It's the fourth inning! And you know what that means! We're going to have a random fan recite poetry! Take it away, Debra from Mamaroneck! > "Hey, fans! It's the fourth inning! And you know what that means! We're going to have a random fan perform percussion on pots and pans and garbage cans! Take it away, Lino from Jackson Heights!
  24. Is FREDI GOT FINGERED too obvious?
