  1. Shoulda squeezed, Grandy.
  2. If Terry is out on the field, it should be to kick Loney's ass.
  3. How can he keep a challenge from happening?

  5. YUP! So now, let's chase this birdie pitcher.
  6. There's a lot of bald behind home plate.
  7. Way to be a man, Wilmer.
  8. I didn't think it was possible for Granderson to double down the line, the way they play him. Don't strike out, Wilmer. Don't pop out either. Infield is back for you.

Votto was the guy to get, and he was talking out of school more every day, embarrassing the team and lowering his price. Doesn't his contract run as long as Bobby Bonilla's? Will Jeff Wilpon's kids be willing to pay? Part of the reason he should be available is a contract that takes you to the end of his career.

Doesn't matter, what's done is done. Well, most of what I write doesn't matter, and the rest is probably wrong, but the Reds were negotiating with the Blue Jays this offseason before pulling out.

  12. And a lot of dudes who call left field their best position.
  13. Gsellman is the first big leaguer to win in his debut after taking over in relief in the first inning since John "The Count" Montefusco in 1974.
  14. You're still at the optonline address?
  15. G-Fafif wrote: Matz, no? Yes. Ynoa first since Greer to do it as a reliever. They and Doug Simons are it in that regard. BTW, Ynoa, who snapped a four-game Met losing streak, was born on the day the Mets snapped a three-game losing streak: May 26, 1993, four months before Kenny Greer came to the fore. Simons and Greer were born on days the Mets lost. And a week later, Robert Gsellman joins the club.
  16. God, Francoeur. What a way to show your fans you care.
  17. I'm thinking we have to go further back. How about Jack Fisher? [fimg=150]http://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/35/590x/Tina-571090.jpg[/fimg] YOU'RE SIMPLY THE BEST! Jack finishes the board! He departed as (I think) the Mets' all time winningest pitcher, and was still in the top ten into the eighties. He remains 28th all time in Met wins, but with NO ALL-STAR APPEARANCES!! Thank you for playing! 1. Trachsel: 66 (10th all-time on the Mets win List) 2. Niese: 61 (Tied for 11th) 3. Thanks for enjoying this modest distraction from a night of lousy baseball.
  18. I'm afraid to guess wrong. But... Terry Leach? [fimg=150]https://i.ytimg.com/vi/sBlhrTpi69E/maxresdefault.jpg[/fimg] Missed it by that much! Terry Leach, like Craig Swan before him, probably deserved an All-Star selection. He had a great first half as a fill-in starter in 1987, but Davy Johnson just couldn't mentally let go of the "fill-in" modifier and didn't choose him. Terry is tied with Mlicki at 24 wins, 22nd on our list. 1. Trachsel: 66 (10th all-time on the Mets win List) 2. Niese: 61 (Tied for 11th) 3. Swan: 59 (Tied for 13th) 4. Ojeda: 51 (15th) 5. Or will one of them pull ahead. STAY TUNED!!
  20. Two out of three ain't bad. It just, you know, may not be enough.
  21. McAndrew [fimg=150]http://chirpradio.org/_/files/blog/daryl_hall.jpg[/fimg] No can do! Close though. Jim McAndrew is 13th in this particular category, with 36 wins. 1.
