Ah, man you should have pitched Swanson away. You can't beat him inside multiple times in a row.

Suzuki could not have popped up higher there.

Harvey's at 104? Keep going. At least until he gives up a baserunner.

Hey, Harvey made a semi-tough play!

That Enciarte play had some Lagares polish. That shot was never more than 30 feet off the ground.

Yeah, facing 13-year-olds on a Little League-sized field is brutal.

Good luck, Guzzlers. Don't give up on those non-hitters. Look down your roster. One of those kids is just one adjustment away from being the next Ben!

Céspedes takes a collar as St. Lucie Gets one-hit by the Lakeland Flying Tigers, but he got four trips to the plate and played eight innings on defense, so that's a step, anyhow. Zack Thornton, booty from the Ike Davis Trade, has been injured, rehabbed, DFA'd, removed from the roster, and finally completed his cascade of indignities with a non-tendering. He finally finds a new employer in the Atlantic League. Like, nearly 200 points of OPS better. Hell, HR numbers be damned, he's even outslugging the guy. Also worth noting: a Cespedes-Granderson-Conforto OF is likely much better defensively than a Ces-Conforto-Bruce one. Granderson and Bruce are welcome to wrestle for playing time, but his defense has been troubling me as much as anything. And my rooting interest remains a Nimmo-Lagares platoon in center. The problem with advocating for trades remains, as always, the vagaries of the market.

I fear no Julio Teheran. Or any pitcher the Braves throw at the Mets. Heck, if anything, I delight in opposing lefthanders' increased ability to keep Curtis Granderson out of the lineup. What I fear for the Mets is them beating themselves.

Recently activated from a doping suspension, Gary Cornish goes six shutout innings in Columbia's 8-0 victory over Lexington. Two homers by Dash Winningham and two doubles by Tim Tebow who, to his credit, keeps getting up and putting a few a good games together whenever he goes 0-for-a-week and I think he's washing out. I realize that, if his football career has done nothing else for him, it's taught him how to fail, which is a big part of the minor league experience.

I typed that shit. I did. But it didn't take.

Matt Harvey, veteran of many skirmishes, bearer of many scars, faces perhaps his greatest nemesis yet: TBD. I was surprised by the digital schedule on display Tuesday night that suggested Keith Hernandez was expected to return. That would be surprising, but hey, Yoenis, take a hint! Keith is 63 and recovering from a partial knee replacement! With Matz and Lugo expected to get the bump later in the series, Gsellman allegedly joins the bullpen. Still holding my breath for some hot new lineup action.

[Editor's note: This article originally played on the name Luke Heimlich in this spot, but we decided to remove that section based on recent news surrounding Heimlich.] That's weird, I thought. I wonder what that's about. And so I looked it up, and you know what? It's all bad.

The day Darryl Strawberry got promoted, Tucker Ashford—who had been playing well, but had lost most of his prospect luster by that time—came up with him, and both were put into the lineup to replace a slumping Danny Heep and a slumping Hubie Brooks. The game turned into a fantastic extra inning drama, with all hands eventually being called into action. When the dust settled, the Mets were winners, and the two heroes of the night were Danny Heep and Hubie Brooks. Sometimes nothing leads a vet to kick it up a notch like a rookie being called up to challenge him for playing time.

I don't get the idea that we've been bunting a great deal.

Centerfield wrote: Also, the stilted accents of the denizens of Paradise Island made for unintentional hilarity. Loved the accents. I get why it doesn't work for everyone, but I thought it added a lot to the characters. Was it done because Gal speaks with an accent and everyone had to match? Was wondering about that. That's the theory I'm working with, but match they did not. Different characters were slipping out of different studied versions of Germanic, English, Irish and other stuff. It felt Clash of the Titans hammy, only moreso. Centerfield wrote: If you're going to nitpick, you could go the route of "Why do the Germans speak to each other in broken English rather than their native German?" But why would you during such a great ride. I don't mean to nitpick. But yeah, when Diana is dueling languages with Samir, they used subtitles, but when Germans spoke to Germans, they used German-accented English. Either is a legit way to go, but both is offputting. You've got to stick with the rules of your own universe, man. Benjamin Grimm wrote: You have the 2008 Hulk movie listed twice. I'm guessing the 2003 one is the one you say is unwatchable? If so, i agree. He's got Batman Begins twice also.

I disagree that "He has taken months to decide whether he can't play any more, and he still hasn't done it." He has decided, and continues to decide, that he can.

Mets win a game with four hits, a night after losing a game despite a million of 'em. Let's turn this ship around.

Reporting from m Oriole Park: Manny Machado just went down with a wrist injury following a hard but clean slide by Andrew McCutcheon. Coming on to play third for Baltimore, making his season debut ... Ruben Tejada!

Sorry, I looked for Florry at third, and didn't see him there and jumped to a conclusion. Only his fourth start of the season at second, and I'd guess his first since Walker came off the DL.

Threw six innings of shutout ball tonight, giving up but three hits and a single walk, while striking out five. He advances his record to a record 8-1, with a 1.56 ERA. You may look shocked.

Derived from "Newcomer," I believe, which will make it particularly a propos on Saturday.
