  1. You're mopping up with a big lead. Throw strikes, Seabie!
  2. Amazing that they're getting a full half inning out of what a hog Dwight Gooden was.
  3. Frayed Knot wrote: I think I see the problem with Cespedes ... HIS FUCKING HAIR IS BLUE!!! Well, here we are.. The star of the Blue Lagoon... and me, the blue-haired goon. What the ... ?! THAT'S TERRIBLE!!
  4. We have a Tonganese in the game.
  5. Edgy MD wrote: What a game for Cabrera! I spoke too soon.
  6. Five shutout innings on 84 pitches.
  7. Minor league deal reportedly returning Sandoval to The Giants!
  8. Well, Walker could be back by Monday, so maybe he can get some action in before the trade deadline after all. Of course, that might mean they have an increased motivation to deal off Cabrera.
  9. Keith references Jackson Browne's "These Days." Cool fact: Jackson wrote that song (his best, to a lot of folks' thinking) at 15, and sold it to Nico. He was a born existentialist.
  10. 41Forever wrote: Maybe some of these guys are auditioning for a contender. As noted earlier, the Sox are reportedly in the house scouting infielders. Also, Keith has a leather thing.
  11. Well, looks like Cespy can run, anyhow.
  12. Cespy hurting? He's working on CYCLE, GUYS!!
  13. Not often Brucie finds a hole on a grounder through the right.
  14. Cabrera! Duda! Flores! All the Mets on the block are producing!
  15. In the first inning, Sherlock says, "Remember THIS!"
  16. Cabrera tags and goes to second on a fly to center, sweetening the deal-to-come for the Mets.
  17. Cabrera gets a hit and might be a Red Sock by the end of the weekend.
  18. Interesting. A 1-2-Walk-Trip-to-the-Mound-3 inning.
  19. Getting under way. Remember to defend your turf, men. [youtube:eyohqo10]sn3xH2QMdmc[/youtube:eyohqo10]
  20. Played centerfield today for only his second time. Got two more hits in St. Lucie's 5-0 win.
  21. Flexie won the front end of a doubleheader for the Young Rumblers today, and is looking like the next rotation hopeful with a 6-1 / 1.66 line for Binghamton. I think he'd already be in Vegas by now, plugging their leaky rotation, but the suits want to keep the Ponies together for a playoff run.
  22. True, I was just looking at personnel.
  23. A team on the chopping block attempts to show some ... something ... in defending their own turf. The Red Sox supposedly had been scouting New York infielders this series, and I would guess T.J. Rivera failed his audition yesterday, so it's Wilmer's turn. But apart from returning Flores to the lineup, Terry is all same-old/same old. Go, Jake! 24. Lightning in a bottle is one thing, but Gsellman and Lugo weren't ready for the high stakes grind of summer in New York. Or something.
