  1. Ways to stay out of the double-play. Take when you're ahead of the count. Steal. Hit and run.Specifically on 2-1 counts. [*]Run and hit.Specifically on 3-2 counts. [*]Send the runner [*]Bunt. [*]Go against the shift.
  2. Two outs! No double-plays this inning!
  3. JAYDEE not cooperating with Operation Double-Play.
  4. So many ways to stay out of double plays. As a manager (which I'm sadly not) my entire philosophy is built around staying out of double plays. They make me insane.

  7. He was my ... itsy-bitsy, teenie-weenie, lefty outfield bat McSkinny! That I miss for the first time today! My itsy-bitsy, teenie-weenie, lefty outfield bat McSkinny! They DFA'd him, though I hoped that he stay!
  8. I'd like to sing a song called, "Not to to Be a Dick but We Should've Kept McKinney"! Join in on the chorus!
  9. I don't know if he has a chill gear. I look at that footage of Richard Sherman going nuts in front of his in-laws house and I'm thinking that he's the same superhumanly intense Richard Sherman who was fascinating and entertaining when he'd tell off a media blowhard like Stephen A. Smith, altered into the crazy beast by maybe one or two too many beers. I don't know if some guys become the stars they are by just banging up on Ritalin and Red Bull, or some just constantly put themselves in a hyper-intense, chip-on-the shoulder, fight-or-flight state of mind to generate enough juices to use as a PED, but Marcus seems like the buddy that's great to have in your corner, but kind of scary for you to be in his, because he just never seems to let up on the combative posture.
  10. Yeah, it really did feel like that was no one in the headsets helping him out. That fight was odd in that it seemed to fire up the Pirates and take all the life out of the Mets. I imagine that's what life with Stroman is like. Someday he's the spark that lights you up, and some days, it's like, "Oh, more of this shit again?" But coming out flat after a four-day break is a bad look.
  11. Alonso's my pick for PotLousyG.
  12. Yeah, that smelled funny to me. Maybe Keith (and maybe Ron?) saw him in spring training.
  13. Need a comeback in the ninth with a pitcher's spot coming up. Billy McKinney, come back!
  14. Guillorme just pulled something of a Rey-o imitation out of his back pocket.
  15. Eighth inning and the first time I've heard Steve Gelbs' voice. I didn't think he was on the job tonight.
  16. I realize Thorne is watching the game on a monitors, and that's not particularly fair, but as that homerun flies out, I've been getting the feeling all evening that he's been the last guy who knows the outcome on every play. That homer cleared the bleachers and he called it a pop-up.
  17. I certainly wouldn't say they deserve it.
  18. Buccos on borrowed time here. The Mets should've scored 10 by now.
  19. It does, indeed. But when you light Stromans' fuse, it stays lit.
  20. Somebody must've just called Stroman "high-strung." He hates that.
  21. Looks like Guillorme coming in. I was kind of thinking that we'd see J.D. Davis and move Villar to short.
  22. Hey, Francisco, it's called running. OE: Shame on me. Looks like he strained something.
  23. How does Stro' go up there swinging?
  24. I can't believe I'm watching my third Roundup ad of the game. How is that stuff still on the market?
  25. Rough start, but it's nice to see Stro finding his strikeout pitch again.
