  1. That's because his name is Jon Jay
  2. Aaron Judge has hit 7 of his 12 (58.33 %) HRs this year against the Orioles (Yanx have played 1/4 of their games vs Bal'mer) In 2019, Gleyber Torres his 13 of his 38 HRs (34.2 %) of his HRs that season vs the O's even though the Yanx played less than 12% of their games vs Balt Yanx are 6-4 vs Baltimore this year.
  3. The oft-unhittable Josh Hader in to close out the 10-8 ... and he's retired two of the five hitters he's faced. 10-9, 1st & 2nd, 2 outs ... Strike Three and the Brewers win, THAAAA Brewers win! If nothing else, it's good to see Atlanta not only lose but also grind thru their pen just as we arrive in town.
  4. Brews scored 2 in bottom 7th. 10-7 Braves up, none out, 1st & 3rd, GiDP ball to SS ... AND THEY MUFF THE FLIP TO 2nd!!!! Run scores, still no one out, 2 on, 10-8
  5. Braves looking for the sweep in Milwaukee got down 0-8 heading to the 7th. They get one in, one out, bases loaded The Brews muff the flip to 2nd off a slow grounder to SS and fail to get even one out: 8-2, 1 out, bags loaded Next batter: slow grounder to SS and again they muff the flip: 8-3, 1 out, bags loaded And then Freddie hits the next pitch for a GS 8-7 Milwaukee, bottom 7

  7. Good! If they stop overturning these essentially meaningless and razor-thin calls then maybe managers will think twice about challenging essentially meaningless, razor-thin calls.

I'm starting to believe that no team can score four runs in four innings. #1968 Except the Rays who just scored four in two innings.

  10. Unless they made some sort of promise to play him everyday -- reportedly things got testy in Anaheim when the Angels asked him to take a reduced role but you can't imagine he'd have any power to demand anything like that on the other side of town -- it really can't bite the Dodgers too hard since they're paying him the ML minimum (he cleared waivers) and so could easily cut him if they don't like what they see.
  11. PH-Extraodinaire perhaps? Lineups from Albert Pujols' first game at Dodger Stadium, 8/31/01, the 133rd game of his career StL Fernando Vina - 2B Placido Polanco - 3B Miguel Cairo - LF Pujols - 1B Jim Edmonds - CF Craig Paquette - RF Edgar Renteria - SS Eli Marrero - C Woody Williams - P LAD Adrian Beltre - 3B Mark Grudzielanek - 2B Shawn Green - RF Gary Sheffield - LF Paul Lo Duca - C Eric Karros - 1B Marquis Grissom - CF Alex Cora - SS Eric Gagne - P
  12. Well that suxx
  13. Loup has got to get Wendle plus the guy behind him. No more LOOGY
  14. Pitch to Zinino He's a low BA guy with power but it's a base hit that'll beat you
  15. Villar was in great position on that play to prevent any rebounds in the crease.
  16. 83 pitches thru 7 ... the equivalent of about 5-1/2 innings worth
  17. So a team schedules a rare Saturday day game (tomorrow) and it turns out to be a club that plays indoors.

  19. Peterson's getting sharper, Glasnow's getting shaker, and Leon's getting larger
  20. The -illar boys strike again!!
  21. That was a heckuva stretch over at 1B. Makes me realize that TB doesn't have that big Korean out there who was so entertaining to watch last October.
  22. 4 full innings in just a shade over one hour ... is that even allowed these days?
  23. Torres was vaccinated AND had previously had Covid.
  24. Jerrid Kelenic took an oh-fer four in his ML debut for Seattle. Clearly we hoodwinked the M's on that deal.
  25. So while the Mets were sitting on their collective asses this afternoon they still managed to cushion their first place lead by another half-game on both the Braves (who completed getting swept by the Jays) and also the Phillies (losers to the Nats). Over this winning streak which started with Game 2 win in the StL DH on May 5, we've gone from: 1.0 game behind Philly to 1-1/2 up 1/2 game up on the Nats to 5 games up 1/2 game up on the Braves to 4 games up 1.0 game up on the Marlins to 4-1/2 up (they play later tonight in Arizona) Milwaukee starter Corbin Burnes came off the IL to K 9 in 5 innings today giving him 58 on the season. But what's most remarkable about that is that only after notching K #58 did he issue his first BB of the season And you thought JdG's K/BB ratio was good!
