  1. As sorted by winning percentage. Not too bad for a team that spent much of the month without ... well, without its team. CUBS 19 - 8 704 PADRES 19 - 9 679 METS 17 - 9 654 GIANTS 18 - 10 643 DODGERS 16 - 11 593 CARDINALS 16 - 12 571 BRAVES 13 - 12 520 MARLINS 13 - 14 481 BREWERS 13 - 15 464 REDS 12 - 15 444 PHILS 12 - 16 429 NATIONALS 11 - 17 393 ROCKIES 11 - 17 393 PIRATES 8 - 20 286 DBACKS 5 - 24 172 Only the Braves played fewer games (1) than the Mets in the month. No one played fewer games than the Mets in April. Mets are 4 to 9 games played behind the rest of the league. Mets = 46, Padres & Dbacks = 55
  2. Yup, Wednesday & Sunday [3:40, 4:10] Then, after an off-day on Monday, it's nothing but EDT straight through until mid-August
  3. I can usually hack one or two of these late starts ... and then the cumulative effect catches up to me. Five late starts in six days -- MON, TUES, THU, FRI, SAT -- is going to make this a tough week.
  4. JdG: ER allowed in 2021 (50 IP) = 4 JdG: RBIs in 2021 (20 ABs) = 3
  5. Edgy MD wrote: The Diamondbacks have an ad behind home plate for "Husband and Wife Injury Law Firm." I wonder if that means the husband and wife are injury lawyers or if it's a law firm which specializes in litigating injuries against spouses?
  6. One more would be nice. Make the game Slam proof.
  7. Bret liked all of us initially ... right up until he made it his life's work to prove to most of us how stupid and unworthy we were compared to him
  8. Frayed Knot wrote: I'm about to jinx things, especially since the 7th inning is when the brakes tend to get slammed on these things, but this is six full innings in just over 90 minutes. Brakes applied. Approx 95 minutes for first 6 innings. More than 60 minutes (and counting) for innings 7 + 8
  9. =Gwreck post_id=66140 time=1622518957 user_id=56] Is there anything to the idea that they had such a short season last year that there is some concern to not let outings go longer than necessary in the early part of this season?
  10. Jacob's lost bat was helicoptering right towards some guy in a white shirt who appeared to have no clue that there was a baseball game in his general vicinity.
  11. I'm about to jinx things, especially since the 7th inning is when the brakes tend to get slammed on these things, but this is six full innings in just over 90 minutes.

  13. No Gary, I'm going to pass on watching Roberts & Carton on SNY weekdays at 4
  14. Even with that bit of a hiccup inning, JdG is still at 4 innings worth of pitches (60) thru 5
  15. I wonder if the step on 1st then try for the tag play at 2nd would have been a better option there?
  16. Jacob just wanted an outfielder to get to touch the ball before the game was over.
  17. =LWFS post_id=66103 time=1622514311 user_id=84]... was there any earthly reason why Peraza wasn't sent on a hit to the outfield with two outs?
  18. When JdG pitches, even our hits w/RiSP don't score runs.
  19. Yeah, Mason Williams, welcome to the New York Fuckin Mets! Much better decision than their first choice for a call-up, Mason Reese [FIMG=300]https://vz.cnwimg.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/mr.jpg[/FIMG]
  20. One thing about playing on the west coast is that most of the other division games are in the books before you start. - Braves beat the Nats - Phils got stomped by the Reds - Marlins, inexplicably, were off today, as were three other teams. Oh yeah, and the Yanx lost again

  23. With Alonso back there's less need for a third catcher than a spare IF with McNeil, JDD, & Guillirme all still out.
  24. Yanx on the verge of getting swept in Detroit by the lowly (19-31 coming into the series) Tigers. - Started Friday night by getting runners on 1std & 3rd w/one out in top 9 of a tie game ... only to see Stanton & Judge strike out Yanx scored once in top 10 but, after Justin Wilson got 2 outs and a 3-2 count, he coughed up a walk-off 2R HR After the game Wilson was put on the IL ... or sent to Siberia, it's unclear which. - Lost 6-1 on Saturday - Are down 6-0 in the 6th today - start a series with division-leading Tampa tomorrow. Rays have won 14 of 15 (and are leading the Phils today)
  25. Saturday night's romp also put the team, for the first time this season, into a positive run differential (+2)
