  1. Wait, this FA TE picked the Jets for their culture?!? Have they checked him for concussions?
  2. According to their BB-Ref bios, tonight's NYY starting OF (Stanton in RF, Judge in CF, Gallo in LF) total 19-1/2 ft tall and weigh a combined 777 pounds. They're also currently losing to the ChiSox 2-0 thru 7
  3. So let's call the 2nd inning a slight improvement over the 1st for the Bassitt hound.
  4. Zero ML runs allowed, eh kid? Sorry, this is the 2022 New York Mets. Took just three batters to bust that streak.
  5. Out and out cold on the same play.
  6. Cashen later admitted, or at least claimed after the fact, that the Mets purposely hyped West's rep in anticipation of a touted pitcher who's also a 6' 6" Lefty would make for good trade bait.
  7. Speaking of celebrities: if Seattle 1B Ty France had married Paris Hilton ...
  8. Of course the last time the Germans and Japanese got together on something the results weren't too pleasant... so maybe it's for the best.
  9. Gotta be the most disappointing loss of the year. Score the first batter of the game with Scherzer on the mound but then do bupkis afterward.
  10. Not a good inning obviously but it could have been a lot worse. One run down with two cracks at it. I like our chances.
  11. I thought about pinch running but I wouldn't have either.
  12. And they've even let Gonzales get back to a decent pitch count after it looked fer sure that we'd be getting into their bully early. He threw fewer pitches in innings 3 thru 6 than he did in 1 & 2
  13. So it appears that hitting against the shift can curtail the use of the shift? Wow! If only that bit of wisdom could have been foreseen.
  14. Pitches thru 2 innings Scherzer = 26 Gonzales = 48
  15. Disappointing not to get more out of that bottom 1st after 2nd & 3rd/no outs.
  16. This weekend sees the rest of the NL East facing so.e challenging opponents: * Marlins hosting Milwaukee * Nats hosting Houston * Braves hosting San Diego * Phils at LAD So this is a big opportunity to throw up a 2-of-3 or a sweep and see if any of the others can match the challenge. We'll certainly be on the tougher side of the ledger on several occasions as the season progresses.
  17. Clayton Kershaw to the IL (Pelvic Joint Inflammation ... which is painful just to read) He's spent a lot of time there in recent years.
  18. Many Met fans know Kelenic's name, but I thought Gary was way overselling the 'drama' of having him in a stadium he never played in and against a franchise where he never even reached full season A ball
  19. Bryce Harper has a "small" tear in his UCL Will continue to DH only until more/better info Is introduced.
  20. This one was even stranger as it involved two separate plays/throws to 3rd, one that came from close range and one that came from RF.
  21. But Buck decided that Lou had to go.
  22. Only four hits for the visiting squad. Would have been nice if they cashed in more of those early opportunities.
