    A rough week it was for the brothers Megill. It seems that while the Brewers were in New York, Trevor was the victim of food poisoning. This in turn caused him to pass out while in a phone store and hit his head on something on the way down. So he's now on the 7-day concussion list.

    So one week into the season and the results are 4 losses plus 3 rainouts. Ugh! Aaaand, the make-up games have eaten up the only two off days they had between the start of the season and April 17th so from here it's 15 games in the next 14 days ... weather permitting of course.

    Orioles have a 1:00 home game today, Phils are at 4:00, Nats at 6:45 so we'll see how the weather is at those while waiting for our time slot.

    The pop culture moment I associate with 9/11 was the Ryan Adams release NEW YORK, NEW YORK The album, GOLD, wasn't released until several weeks later but the single was came ahead of it including the video which was shot on location on 9/7 with the towers featured in the background for much of the song. [YOUTUBE]hmHgY_J63Ik[/YOUTUBE] Saw TRAINING DAY but a whole bunch of years ago so don't remember a whole lot but, like Sharpie, I remember thinking at the time that it was merely meh.

    A solo HR by Ozuna in the 9th (his second of the game) gets the Braves to within 3-2, but Td'A pops out with two on to end the game and give the ChiSox their first win of the season.

    ChiSox up 2-1 on the visiting Braves after 7, but given the 8th & 9th are coming up I'm expecting an Atlanta win by at least two touchdowns. And to that end, after securing the first out the Sox walk the next two hitters both on 3-2 count and both looked like bad calls. Then ... to make it worse, the second walk would have been a K/CS had the second 3-2 been called correctly. And the new pitcher gives up a third 3-2 walk in a row although at least this one was legit. ... but an Austin Riley GiDP ends the inning!!!!

    I guess someone closed the window. They have to make it early on Thursday because the Tiggers have their home opener on Friday afternoon.

    Even worse than Nimmo & Lindor, Bryce Harper was hitless in 13 ABs thru his first four games. Well he just 'regressed to the mean' to the tune of three HRs and six RBI (2 solos and a GS) 8-1 Phils in the 7th

    That they are somehow playing in Philly as we speak may give them a bit of hope. Not that the weather doesn't suck there too: 47, windy and wet. (Ronnie and someone calling the game on TBS) Trea Turner just mailed a throw from SS about nine feet over Harper's head leading to an unearned run for Cincy. 1-1 thru 3

    And Houston is allowing Blanco to pitch the 9th (90 pitches to start the inning) even though he's never gone past 6 8th start of his career. Only Toronto baserunner was a walk to lead off the 1st!! One out ... two outs (nice play at 1st: 3-1 in your scorecard) George Springer trying to play spoiler ... walks for a second time in the game Baby Vlad at bat ... 2-1 count

    Oh sure, NOW Houston jumps out to a 10-0 lead (v TOR) after losing four straight to the MFYs AND ... they've got a no-hitter heading to the 9th ... and a single pitcher no-no no less (Ronel Blanco) [shrug]

    Well, we weren't coming back from a one-run deficit anyway, even with the ghost runner. So being down by one, two, or five hardly makes a difference.

    This might be a good time to point out to Rob Manfred that XI games aren't too long when you get to the 10th at 2:20 into the game as opposed to the way it was when you didn't get there until the 3:15 mark.

    Has there been any reason given for the decision to go to agate type for the names? MLB's call or the uni manufacturer?

    I Don't hate swinging 3-0 but it's not like we needed an ambush HR there nor did we have a high pct hitter up.
