  1. =Fman99 post_id=156083 time=1716334461 user_id=86] Listening on XM while waiting in ATL for my flight home. Fun stat with a runner on 3rd the Mets are zero for billion zillion fuckbrillion
  2. =G-Fafif post_id=156091 time=1716335952 user_id=55] David Fry made quite an impression.
  3. We don't do clutch hits. We do a lot of weak grounders though.
  4. Starter out. Enter Sandlin (but there's probably not a good entrance song by that name)
  5. Once again we have a bunching of hits, walks (HBP) and sloppy NYM fielding to produce a crooked number on the opposition board.
  6. Chad ochoseis wrote: Guardians unis don't distinguish between 1B Josh Naylor and his catching brother Bo Naylor. Then it's your job to alert the NYM dugout if the Guardians try to sneak one in in the guise of the other in any late inning switcheroos.
  7. =ashie62 post_id=156031 time=1716323240 user_id=90] Xzavion Curry will start
  8. A couple of notes from Monday's matchups while we were falling asleep in front of that game in Cleveland - the Yanx and Clay Holmes, up 4-1 after 8, coughed up four in top 9 to the Mariners and the M's hung on to win. It snapped the Yanx winning streak at seven and those were the first earned run allowed this year by closer Holmes in 21 appearances / 21 innings. - the Braves split a pair vs SDP but lost Game 1 despite holding a 5-1 lead after 6 Set-up man Joe Jimenez was the chief culprit. - Boston 3B Rafael Devers HR'd for the sixth straight game. This is a BOS team record and two short of the MLB record of 8
  9. He's the man who thought he was a woman, right?
  10. Guardians had four 4 hits on the game, three of them came consecutively and, just for good measure, we tossed an error in (could have been two) amongst those hits.
  11. In comes Cleveland close Emmanuel Clase If he fails you know who comes in? Class B! I haven't used that joke since Jesus Colome was in the league
  12. If you have to examine it this long and this minutely then it's not a call that needs to be overturned!!!! oe: but they do on the 51/49 principle which is not what the rule was designed to 'correct'.
  13. Cade Smith!! ... Really?!? His parents had a cruel sense of humor. On the other hand, the Guardians don't have to pay someone extra to sing GBA during the 7th inning stretch.
  14. I feel like it's been a long time since we got a ball out of the infield.
  15. Best Comp: Billy Williams or Bob Robertson?
  16. He's Hen-er-y the Second he is Hen-er-y the Second he is he is He was property of the Padres before but he allowed too many runs to score So then the Mets signed old Hen-er-y (Hen-er-y) Assigning him to Bingo if they can. He's the one named twice called Hen-er-y Hen-er-y times two is the man, the man Henry times two is our plan
  17. Yeah, the name is familiar but I have no specific memories of him at all. I was shocked to discover he pitched three seasons and made 97 starts for the Yanquis.
  18. btw, there is a tight little grouping for the winningest Japanese pitcher when MLB & NPB wins are combined Hiroki Kuroda 203, 79 MLB (LAD & NYY)* + 124 NPB Hideo Nomo 201: 123 MLB (LAD, KCR, TBR, NYM, BOS, DET, MIL) + 78 NPB Yu Darvish 199** (TEX, SDP, CHC, LAD): 106 MLB + 93 NPB * I have absolutely no memory of this guy, even from his time w/the Yanx ** Likely 200 before the night is out
  19. Elder abuse going on in Atlanta. Braves starter Bryce Elder takes it on the chin early and it's 7-0 Padres on SNB in the 4th. Darvish dishing for the Pads. Braves/Pads got rained out Saturday, but this was already scheduled to be a 'wrap-around' series anyway so now they're going to follow a night game tonight with a 12:20 / 6:20 DH on Monday. After those three games in ~26 hours, the Braves are due in Chicago for a series in Wrigley starting Tuesday night while the Padres do the same in Cincy.
  20. Now I feel better. After all, when was the last time you saw a 4-run 9th inning lead blown?
  21. Well that ups my confidence in a W here ... a tiny bit anyway.
  22. Now up to six straight goose eggs following the opening inning barrage. No way any of this will come back to bite them.
  23. I didn't think Sixto Sanchez was even going to come out for the 2nd inning much less ggetting through the 4th and doing so basically untouched.
  24. =DocTee post_id=155697 time=1716046279 user_id=85] As I posted elsewhere, they have scored one run or fewer in 25% of this year's games. That is....not good.
