  1. Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking bourbon through a funnel.
  2. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that 'UNIVERSAL BASIC GUYS' is going to be a no-watch show for me.
  3. Who had two Pete IF hits on their Bingo card?
  4. Fans should never take deep playoff runs for granted. I recoiled at hearing Met fans taking the ouster by the Cardinals in stride because, in their minds, that year was a mere stepping stone to a sustained run of winning seasons which was sure to follow. This surge was also going to coincide with the downward trajectory of the Yanx. Yeah, how'd all that work out for ya? Plus, if we do manage to take these next two, the particular AL opponent takes the WS from a 'like to win' situation to a Must Win!
  5. And the yanx will be in the WS So the remaining question is, will we join them?
  6. Soto, 3R HR in top 10 with two outs
  7. A walk and an error puts two on with one out in top ten
  8. Bryan Rocchio leads off bottom 7 with a well earned walk (Rocchio was restless he was ready to kill) Boone, of course, bitched about the call because that's what he does.
  9. 2 - 2, end of six
  10. That was the last pitch thrown by the starter Bibee. Reliever Cade Smith Ks Jazz Chisholm to end the inning. No word as to whether Smith sang 'God Bless America' prior to the game or not
  11. And the suddenly hot Giancarlo Stanton ties it with a 2 out / 2 strike / 2R HR in top 6th
  12. The land of Cleve scratches put a run in bottom 5 to go up 2-0 Coulda had more as they left 'em loaded but it was a two out rally so tough to complain.
  13. Guardians draw first blood as the Naylor brothers [Josh single and Bo double] score / drive in a run in bottom 2.
  14. Hey, when Florida-Georgia Line has got a gig lined up down the Interstate a bit he's got to hop to it. The show must go on!
  15. Mets box score: 14 for 34, 12 R, 12 RBI, 5 BBs, 3 HBP, and, wait for it, ZERO Ks!!! I'm used to two in the 1st inning alone. See guys, good things happen when you make contact. For instance you just might win a game by six runs despite getting out-HR'd three to one.
  16. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Acuna didn't score from third on a double play? Winker didn't get to 2nd on a ball off the wall and Acuna doesn't score from 3rd on a GiDP ... and FOX never showed nor mentioned either. Someone above said the pitcher looked Acuna back but, even so, that's a go on contact play IMO. If they throw home you're almost certainly out but it kills the DP and you've still got a RiSP w/1 out. If they opt for the DP instead then it's a free run. And, hey, LAD might be so surprised that they eff up the play entirely.

  18. I'll take a solo HR in exchange for 7 outs.
  19. 2 hours+ for the first half of the game.
  20. RIGHT FIELD, Francisco. Remember that.
  21. Well this one is starting a wee bit better than the previous couple. Getting Flaherty up over two innings worth of pitches (30+) just to get through one isn't insignificant either.
  22. Sounds like a Smoltz "narrative " It was actually the p-b-p guy (whose name I never remember). One or both of them used the phrase multiple times but it was a very broad use of the phrase.
  23. The yanx aren't playing particularly well in this series. They've been picked off multiple times; Gleyber Torres failed to run on a 2-out 3-2 pitch and also didn't move on a bloop that fell for a hit in short RF. But the Guardians are rivaling the Metscfor RiSP ineptitude (at least prior to the late inning blitz yesterday) so the yanx were twice a batter away from a sweep.
  24. I was on the Cleveland radio broadcast yesterday (right up until the 9th inning when the Met game started so I missed all the fireworks). Anyway, one of the Cleveland guys talked about how they couldn't use the language that Sterling had used to describe a Yanqui mistake from the previous game (i think it was also a pickoff). 'John can get away with that', he said, 'but we'd get fired'. Not sure what it was but that's gotta be on the internet somewhere.
  25. =Fman99 post_id=176480 time=1729242356 user_id=86] If this is it, and it well may be, then it's been a heck of a ride this year.
