  1. And now even when we GET a hit w/RiSP we don't get a run out of it ... #ARRRRRGH!!!!

I still hate fuckin' tack-on runs, especially after two are out and none on. Two run deficits are A LOT easier to come back from than three.
  3. 3 times in 51 opportunities so far this season a pitcher has blown a 3-run/1-inning save. Bastardo trying to join that group.
  4. THAT FUCKIN' TACK-ON RUN!!!!
  5. EYJ leads off trying to become the next NYM LOB

At least Farnsworth can be counted on the occasional K in between hits allowed/ But Valverde's problem is that the hitters keep fouling stuff off all day long off him to where they're almost certain to find something they like eventually or at least run up his pitch count and shorten his outing if they don't.

  8. Well, we won't C see-see this week (or is that see C. C.?) - to the DL for "inflammation of the knee".
  9. I don't overturn that one if I'm the guy deciding. And besides, does it really matter whether the Mets get the leadoff runner on or not? - lately it seems to decrease their odds of scoring.

Beyond that a lot depends on what they do with Mejia. - Is he going to be demoted from the rotation to the pen, or to AAA, or not at all? - If so, does his replacement come from Vegas or from Dice-K? - Are they even willing to consider Montero and/or DeGrom as relievers? - At some point I'm sure they'd like to get a second LHP up here - Will Black or Thorton or someone else currently in Vegas get their act in gear? Black's been better lately - which means he's only walking Half the ballpark.
  11. Met players ain't helping us today. This has now morphed from merely frustrating to stunning incompetence.
  12. Just repeat after me: Ryan Howard gets an infield single and then evades a tag at home to score a run
  13. How many friggin' Strike 3's' are we going to look at? Striking out as often as they do is bad enough. Doing so with the bat on your shoulder is infuriating. And the Mets have to settle for just one run has been chosen as the official slogan of this season to date.
  14. I'm not one automatically given to disliking Disney-tinged stuff, even when it comes to sports movies. I liked THE ROOKIE well enough and also enjoyed Kurt Russell as Herb Brooks and really the entire project in MIRACLE. But this one, based on the real life reality-style contest to find and train a couple of cricket playing boys in India towards becoming ML pitchers, looks really awful. That ESPN, owned of course by Disney/ABC, spent about 3/4 of a BB2N show a couple days ago pimping the premier and actors while ignoring the actual games certainly didn't help the cause.

I'm more worried about the hitting of the other eight guys. Ashie, though maybe not Asche, gets his wish. 16. 1) There is no "arbitration milestone", not a specific one anyway. At best it's an estimate that hovers around the late May/early June time frame but even that only matters if the player you bring up stays up continually for at least three seasons. 2) I don't think Montero, or even more so with DeGrom, are the type of players you worry about what they may or may not be getting paid three years down the line, particularly if they're going to start out (and maybe continue as) relievers. IOW, I don't think mgmt is sitting around just waiting for the passing of some non-specific date. There's even talk that Montero might bump Mejia as soon as his next start. 3) Even if reinforcements are coming I don't know that Farnie here is automatically the first one getting tossed overboard. He's mis-cast as a closer but so is everyone on the staff right now along with everyone they're likely to bring up.
  17. FUCK ME!! 5 of the last 6 losses have been via opponent runs in the 9th inning or later.
  18. Us: 2 on and none out = no runs Them: none on and two out = 1 run (and counting)
  19. A two-out fucking walk to Rollins!!!
  20. metirish wrote: d'Kong76 wrote: The fake-intentional walk? That's a new one. Didn't see this but Ron is talking about it, can someone explain what happened? After a mound conference, the Phils threw intentional Ball 1 to Campbell ... and then they suddenly changed their minds and pitched to him starting at 1-0. He eventually K'd looking at strike 3
  21. Yeah, walk guy and bring up Utley. Just what we needed.
  22. I blame the bunt, and the call on 3-0 that kept the bunt option alive.
