David Ortiz with a 3 run homer in the 9th to beat the Indians...he's fuckin sick.

So what about Zito, he stays with the A's and now when Oakland loses him all they will get are compensation picks, certainly a tough spot for Beane to be in.

I remember the buzz around Rick Astley was that his voice was the product of the producer, not really his you know, great song though. I wish we had a game tonight,I'm so bored.

I thnk the mets lose nothing really in outfield defence, Nady was cool and all but Chavez plays a better RF, the question is can Milledge play a better outfield. Coleman is on the FAN saying that Balitmore twice pulled out of a three way deal that would have sent Milledge and Heilman to Balitmore with Tejada going to houston.

Ok IO have been hearing all day how Abreu is not that great in the outfield, all these callers to the FAN and a reporter from Philly claim he's afraid of the wall as soon as he hits the warning track..they point to a few Mets games...I don't remember anything like that.

    Dammit

I heard Rick Sutcliffe say on the ESPN game tonight that the Pirates changed the pitching motion of Perez after he won 12 games a few years ago,any truth to this?.I think if that's true then there is hope for him under Peterson.

Robo was great last year but IIRC he was not that great during August, plus Sanchez could take the ball every day it seemed,it's asking a lot of Bert to replace Sanchez,it's time for Heilman to get more innings.
  8. metirish
Ok cool because I thought I read he had surgery....
  9. metirish
I know how you feel, and here's another thing, when Omar was on the FAN he said when asked if Sanchez is gone for the year.." we have to wait and see if he needs surgery,if not he could be back"...I swear he said something like that...anyone else hear it?

We still need a leftie of the bench,no doubt Oamr will get one on the waiver wire.

From Mets.com ] Milledge is batting .277 with seven home runs, a .453 slugging percentage and 35 RBIs in 278 at-bats with Triple-A Norfolk. He batted .233 with a .419 slugging percentage, three home runs and 12 RBIs in 86 at-bats while with the Mets from May 30-June 30. His immediate availability to the Mets may be an issue because was ejected from Norfolk's game on Sunday night and may face discipline.

Yeah Omar said as much today on the FAN.

] "You work all year to get where you are, and then something like this happens. It's tough," Nady said. "I was out on the beach with my fiance when I saw I missed about seven calls on my cell. Then I talked to Omar. He thanked me and I thanked him for the opportunity."
  14. metirish
Doc where have you been all day?
  15. metirish
] And if it wasnt for this accident, the Nady trade doesnt happen-- Omar indicated that's not true,he was looking at Bert anyway..that's probably BS though.

]omar is on the fan, i cant exactly determine if the linebrink deal has happened. i dont think it has? I heard the interview and he mentioned this deal but I don't really know what the hell he said. From the Padres site.. ]SAN DIEGO -- The Padres are starting to look like Boston West. Resisting numerous overtures for setup reliever Scott Linebrink in their pursuit of an established third baseman, the Friars added depth to their bench by acquiring veteran infielder Todd Walker from the Chicago Cubs at the trade deadline on Monday. They surrendered Minor League right-hander Jose Ceda, general manager Kevin Towers disclosed.

] The Mets wouldn't be obligated to recognize any discipline imposed by the International League." That bit is interesting, would it be seen as bad form to not recognize any ban?
  18. metirish
He'll hit 20 HR's this year and play solid defense. Well I'm not so sure he plays solid defence, they must think Milledge will be better, not so sure about that either..and Omar on the FAN claimed that the Pirates didn't know about the Sanchez injury so no he didn't feel over the barrel. Some girl on the FAN gave a good account of herself and why she thought Omar gave up too much for Bert, then she said as a woman she's sad because well he's hot.." don't the Mets want to sell tickets to women?"....kinda funny.
  19. metirish
Jesus I'd hate to be a Pirates fan.
  20. metirish
Omar on the Fan says Milledge will get called up.
  21. metirish
    Soriano stays with the Nats.
  22. metirish
That seems like a terible deal for the Pirates, is Wilson making big money or something?
  23. metirish
] This is the end Beautiful friend This is the end My only friend, the end Of our elaborate plans, the end Of everything that stands, the end No safety or surprise, the end Ill never look into your eyes...again

The San Diego Padres have acquired infielder Todd Walker from the Chicago Cubs, Newsday has learned. Walker, 33, hit .277 with six homers and 40 RBI for the Cubs this season.
  25. metirish
I'd do Heilman straight up for Clemens.....
