I thought his excuse was a bit mind numbing , so you can't get up for games in the 8th inning for a first place team in front of a good fan base in the big city . I'm sure there will be plenty of times where the 8th inning will be the key one having to go through the heart of the order and all that bull. Paging Dr. Sports Psychologist for Mr. Putz.

With a speedy Reyes on second and Castillo hitting very well I thought it was a bad move , either way we got to get him home and we didn't.
-
I watched the replay last night , at least the later innings. Bunting with Castillo there was like playing for the tie at home , with no outs and Reyes on second you sacrifice him to third?....I didn't like that at all.
-
Reyes ran last night and hurt the team, so as mentioned above it's focus with Reyes. Last season when Manuel took over this crap was supposed to be done with , Reyes had tuned Willie out they say and Jerry was going to get him focused , benched him his first game. But all that didn't work as he has proven since with several lazy, bad call them whatever plays. Swanie I don't know if you can punish a guy like that in baseball....it seems to be a point of pride in hockey that stuff. Do they have the kangaroo court these days?

A nice way for Tatis to welcome Willets for his first game at Citi Field. -
Thirteen games at Bingo last season playing first , that's it. I always think back to what keith Hernandez likes to say " playing first is not that easy".
-
I'm probably totally wrong here but Murphy at first base sounds like trouble , defensibly that is .Tatis strikes me as a better athlete than Murphy and he is having some trouble playing first. Certainly Murphy's inexperience will hurt at the position. It's just not that easy.

I can't see this video part here at work but apparently they taped the whole thing http://www.sportsrubbish.com/2009/05/12/baseball/mlb/mets-fan-becomes-first-streaker-at-citi-field-video/

Mets loving douchebag at last nights game

He looks like he might be Chipper's long lost brother.

I think it was Ron that said Cox probably would rather face the cold guy off the bench , make him beat you. It was a fascinating game .

I thought it was a real throwback Mets Braves game , full of tension. Some great plays and some bad ones.

Yes , I forgot about 2004...yikes..

Beltran is who I want at the plate in that situation , has he ever been better in his career than right now?

Tension here
-
I like it , like KC said as long as they don't beat it over our heads. Ron I think does a good job at telling us where the pitch should have went.

HUH? WTF?

I'm not huge fan of Schneider but come on he's it after Santos and the injured Castro....what's the status of Castro , with this long road trip coming up who is going to catch with Omir?
-
And certainly not at that money . I had forgotten how much the braves gave him. Not scoring runs for Santana gets mentioned a lot but what about the defence , does that also suffer when Johan toes the rubber. I would have thought it would not have with the way Santana pitches , it's not like he's slow out there.
