  1. This thread is brilliant ....
  2. There will be enough material for a DVD soon.
  3. Was Madonna this annoying back in the 80's?, I find this one not only annoying but not the least bit interesting.
  4. It never ends with them http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/on-the-mets-beat-1.812057/phillies-fan-possibly-a-dad-eats-concrete-on-broadcast-1.2041256
  5. We have 1 & 2 on DVR , never tire of watching them.
  6. I just want to gauge the thoughts here on Santana, clearly one of the best pitchers of his generation , owner of some of the biggest balls out there , gives you his all every time out .....but , and that's the problem for me, I have a but about him. I guess I expected CY seasons every season from him , I know the team doesn't score for him , I didn't even check the numbers but the guys in the booth tell us that a lot during his outings. I know he was brilliant there for a stretch and had nothing in terms of wins to show for it , I dunno , not here to slam the guy as I really like him , just that , I think it will be interesting to look back on this contract. Look who sponsors his page.....how lame are we? http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/santajo02.shtml
  7. Weiner Proposal Major League Baseball teams are charging fans arbitrary and excessive fees when buying tickets online. Sometimes these fees can be greater than the ticket price. When fans buy tickets online, they dont know what the final price of the ticket when they pick their seats. Online ticket vendors add extra fees at every step of the process. Virtually every time a fan clicks next, another fee is added. The first fees fans get hit with are convenience fees, which appear after they make their ticket selection. Then a printing fee gets added for fans that want to print their tickets at home. Then the final hit comes with the order processing fee just before the fan clicks to purchase the tickets. Solution To add greater transparency to baseball ticket fees, Rep. Weiner, who sits on the Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection intends to propose legislation requiring all websites selling baseball tickets to display at the beginning of the ticket purchase the total amount of fees as a percent of the ticket price. Oh , see I thought he would have an actual solution that stopped this type of ripoff , he just wants us to know before hand how much we will get done for.
  8. Looking forward to seeing it , will let it cool for a few weeks then take the kid.
  9. really great KTE......nice work.
  10. I do kinda like how Jerry put it , his development had leveled off here and going down is the next step in that"......something along those lines anyway.
  11. Rumors are atwitter after Jerry's " I don't see him as a canidate for the bullpen" comment that Maine gets DFA'd after next rehab start.
  12. Francesa on the radio jawing about Reyes " dancing around second base and in the dugout , you can't go crazy about that, keep him off base".
  13. Sherman was just surprised, he wasn't astounded and shocked? 12 of the 12 baseball people I spoke with when pushed gave me one reason for taking Hughes , it was not shocking insomuch as obvious, he lockers next to Jeter baseball person # 8, since they moved his locker next to Jeter's he's become a different pitcher, actually when I think about it he's become an overall better person
  14. Gary brings it up every start too, Keith last night suggested that Manuel has a short leash with his starters and the last two times out Takahashi was pitching for his spot. It seems like a good problem to have though with Tak and Dickey.
  15. Ojeda , who I have warmed up to was adamant that Takahashi stays in the rotation : how can you take him out?"....
  16. ASSHOLES , WANKERS, TWATS,
  17. Whatever the Japanese is for balls that's the word I am looking for because Takahashi has some big ones....
  18. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Frayed Knot wrote: If this is turning into a discussion of whether to bet on Carter for the future or Martinez I'm casting my lot with Martinez. Don't be too eager to give up on 21 year olds. Just because we Met fans started hearing of him when he was 16 doesn't mean his 21 is the equivalent of someone else's 26. The injuries are frustrating although a good sign is that it's not one recurring problem that portends a chronic condition. Some guys tend to get hurt a lot right up until that point where they don't. what he said. You guys is crazy. Yeah really......

  20. Jesus Christ , the one guy everyone would expect to plough through a catcher looks like a fucking wally hitting for home.....wtf was that?
  21. Great story about Phillips.....wow, I was thinking about him the other night and wondering if he was still playing......thanks for the link
  22. I know right, it hardly makes sense for me to be critical of a guy who has hit two three run homes but still.
  23. I like Carter and all but his two three run bombs aside he doesn't seem to have much of a plan at the plate.
