  1. Well that certainly would throw the cat among the pigeons if he can prove his innocence, and I hope he is innocent but it all sounds very familiar his claims of nothing intentional, highly unusual circumstances yyybbb.
  2. I want Murphy healthy to see what he can do for a full season, three hole?
  3. WOW, that's some crazy shit right there.
  4. I'm still laughing at Ceetar's
  5. I had forgotten how much fun this can be and how quickly a tune can come about after initially thinking I'm screwed with this list.
  6. I think MGIM it's more the idea that the Mets weren't even involved that irks, not that they wouldn't surpass the Marlins offer which I think most agree is generous.
  7. DVR is set.
  8. attgig wrote: Pujols received ten years and $254MM from the Angels, but Bob Nightengale of USA Today says the Marlins offered ten years and $275MM. That would have tied Alex Rodriguez for the largest contract guarantee in baseball history. Nightengale says that with incentives and Florida's lack of a state income tax, the deal could have been worth nearly $300MM. So he's not a spoiled money grabbing prick after all.

I didn't ,sorry, I was rushing to get it up before I left work, very busy at the minute. plus there was this Let's try to knock out the first-round games first: I didn't want to be the one holding things up either.
  10. attgig wrote: I kinda feel like the Orioles of the NL east. what an awful thought, and it's true.
  11. Welcome back Ceetar, missed you.

  14. saw on twitter that the Angels TV deal is expected to go from $50 million a season to $150......flush with money.
  15. Heyman and the likes need to shut up about Pujols legacy and acting all hurt that he has left St.Louis, the guy is one of the great players all time, not a bad legacy.....so far.
  16. 5 years $75 million this is the same guy form the playoffs right?
  17. Frayed Knot wrote: I bet Astros fans are happy to get Albert out of their division ... oh wait!! Ha!
  18. Talk in St. Louis is Berkman moving to first and Beltran now an option for RF.
  19. WOW, Cardinal fans must be sick.
  20. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: All joking aside, isn't this spending and the stuff around it a gigantic red flag to these guys? Their owner has a track record of lying to fans and the state, is under investigation from the SEC, and only had a marginal/nominal role in putting together the 2003 team (with John Henry/Dombroski doing most of the heavy lifting before he stepped into the owner's slot). They have never-- never-- drawn any fans on a consistent, franchise-sustaining basis. Every contract they've handed out so far appears to be more heavily backloaded than a Basketball Wife. Plus, the last time the Marlins went on a spending spree, they traded all their talent a year later. I honestly dont understand why any player would want to go play there over anywhere else offering a comparable deal, especially when they are basically telegraphing their intent to unload everyone with their insistence on not handing out no-trade clauses. it's crazy , I look forward to it all going pear shaped.
  21. $58 million - 4 years, and they will probably get Fielder if they can't land Pujols....wankers
  22. Yeah, most of my exposure to him has been on FOX , heard a lot of great things about his Mets days, wouldn't mind hearing him with the SNY booth for a few weeks.
  23. Congrats, no idea if he deserves it or not, don't know much about it.I do think though that working as he does with Buck has got to bring down his level of color guy quality.

  25. Frayed Knot wrote: metirish wrote: Didn't see it but Sandomir in the Times was tweeting like crazy last night about how SNY were going all out on these moves with wall to wall coverage. It's December, what else are they going to do? The only other story 'round these parts in mid-week is that every team up to and including the Gay Men's Chorus and the cast of 'The View' has reportedly been offered a spot in the Big East. oh no doubt , they maybe got a tad excited though , again like you said what else are they going to do, moves are moves.
