Looks like the Cubs drove the price for Sanchez up......that is an absolutely crazy contract for this http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/sanchan01.shtml Mike Pelfrey must be thinking that could have been me....

You knew this was coming" Mets insider says Mets brass not happy with Dickey airing his distaste for the process at a Mets event at CF" Paraphrasing right there but that in itself seems part of the dance with contract talks.

Mets, having fielded their share of offers for Dickey, have supposedly returned to the negotiating table with him, sources tell ESPN. If I were Jon Niese, I'd be climbing Kilimanjaro NOW!!!! OE: Jon Heyman and CBS Sports has them only six million apart, which is the kind of gap that can be bridged by a performance bonus or two. Let's get this done.

I am amazed that deals just like this don't get done at the winter meetings when they are all there....like , something they would hash out over breakfast, or maybe at the giggle joint.

Does he have a nice body to go with that power and good arm?

Tigers apparently wanted him and were concerned that he wouldn't still be available when their shot came around, hence it was all a pre-arranged deal. No players taken or lost by the Mets in the minor league portions of the process. Why would the Mets help Detroit like that?, something else in the works?

Oh I kid......but, didn't we here on the board give him a hard time before for wearing a MFY hat at a playoff game? IIRC there was something about him and the MFY.....I could be totally wrong on that.

And who will fly all these people to Nashville? Ralph Kiner Chris Rock?.....no way, isn't he a MFY fan now?

Excellent, looks like a win win...... In regards to Wheeler IIRC there was another prospect form the Giants being touted by the media and initially it looked like the Mets didn't get all they could....of course Wheeler quickly dispelled that notion.

it sure is looking that way....I suppose I am a bit stunned that they are talking top of the line prospects..... did Alderson say that he wants players that can help soon? , how soon?, the players being talked about, are they ready soon?, it's a crapshoot I know ...

Don't know about Texas but Wil Myers seems the dude everyone wants from KC. Don't know if he can be had, but he'd seem to fit our needs pretty well. KC also said to be 'interested' in James Shields and Jon Lester so they're lookin'. A quick search shows Lester gets mentioned too.....I doubt Dickey gets us Myers?, or I should say that Dickey would be third on that list if you're the Royals. Meanwhile an article on Myers and the science of predicting top prospects..... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/cliff_corcoran/11/28/wil-myers-royals-top-10-prospects/index.html

Other former Mets teammates from 1986 have distanced themselves from Dykstra. Ron Darling and Bob Ojeda declined to discuss Dykstra, Hernandez quickly ended an interview, and Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry did not return multiple messages seeking comment for this story. The three guys that work for SNY didn't want to talk about Lenny , connection? anyway, messed up story, it was great during the boom....I remember he had that magazine , articles for the money papers.....crazy times.

That's nuts! Ddin't Burnett hate pitching to him, or was that Cervelli?

Agree with Bucket on trading starters.......damn, the Braves are not the sentimental type, always doing something.
