  2. The third Yankee game was a microcosm of my worries: 1. Great, young starting pitching that is getting held up due to limits/fatigue. 2. Offense that disappears for whole games (or several games) at a time. 3. Middle relief that continues to throw grease on a dumpster fire one after the next. Nothing new (as all of this is mentioned above), but it was all included in that Sunday night game.
  3. This game is eroding all of the good feelings I had after last night's game.
  4. Must score runs! Let's Go Mets!
  5. Getting the FOX broadcast through MLB.TV. Let's take this one!
  6. Headly seemed worried about the quick pitch from Robles.
  7. Matz did well tonight...too many pitches, though.
  8. I'm enjoying Smoltz and Costas. MLB Network has this SHIFT TRAX corner graphic that shows where the defense is during the pitch. I've never seen it before It's better than the crappy FOX strike tracker.
  9. The DUDAbides!
  10. Nice play Flores! Bailed out DARno.
  11. MLB Network is tuned to the right game. I'm in!

  13. Thanks for all the help guys. SNY did do a graphic on Wednesday that said the Friday game will be on WPIX. Unfortunately, Extra Innings does not always carry the WPIX games and this is one of those times. I will start by trying the MLB Network broadcast tonight. If it's the Mets game, I'll watch (unless they are carrying the YES feed, but I agree with FK that this one should be their own crew). If they are showing the Nats game (technically NYC is closer to me, though), I do have MLB.TV and will watch the game on the WPIX feed there (and hang out in the pool).

  15. "When I'm president, America will be great again. I will secure 8 years of Yankee championships on day one. We will be great at winning. Winner, winner, chicken dinner. You're fired. O'Reilly says 'hi'."

  17. There is a major chance that Cespedes gets overpaid based on his Aug/Sep/Oct of '15. If that's the case, I don't want the Mets to be the ones overpaying. Any offer the Mets make should be based on the whole of his career and not just his time in New York (obviously). I think the Mets are five times more likely to sign Cespedes long term now that he has dropped his small window negotiation clause, but that's only because I thought there would be a less than 1% chance of them re-signing them before and only about a 5% chance now.
  18. I have lose in the NLCS as well...there are just a lot of road blocks in that NL Central and, if they make it that far, they are pretty much guaranteed to face a Central team. However, if they find a way to get into the WS, I think they could match up well against any of the AL teams in a seven game series.
  19. OK, so it looks like the Mets are going to win the NL East and make it to the playoffs. It's not a done deal yet, but the probability is very high. At the beginning of the year, I set my personal reality-based win total expectation for the ball club at about 84 wins. They will meet that expectation as long as they win one more of their remaining 17, and I expect them to win many more. So, they have overwhelmingly exceeded my spring training expectations. Sprinkled throughout some of our threads (Worries Here, Standings, 2015, etc.), some posters are musing about how far they might go based on how the team is constructed right now. Some are worried about going deep in October due to worries about various players/positions. Others seem to have the mindset that any post-season series wins are gravy. Some are prognosticating on exactly which will be the game winning play in the NLCS. So my poll question is, now that the Mets have exceeded the pre-season expectations of many here, what are your realistic expectations for the team going forward in 2015? Personally, I think this team has some major questions...but it's hard not to think it can be one of the more balanced Mets teams to play in October since the 80s.
  20. Not for nothing, but I'll be happy to be done with Miami after this game. I know the Mets have a winning record against the Fish this season, but they played tough in a lot of games (even the ones they have lost) and it seems like many of the matches have been close. Their overall record may be horrible this year, but they are still playing with a little fire unlike the Phils and Bravos.
  21. deGrom looks tired. He's either over-throwing or missing in a lot of cases. I won't really panic until we see how he fares after his next start gets pushed back or skipped. The season-long fatigue of our top 3 pitchers was my biggest worry over a month ago when it was becoming more evident that the Mets were probably going to make the postseason. As for Gee, that bridge has been burned from both ends. It is more likely no longer a matter of his ability but of the bad blood between him and the club. I'm sure he's pissed over how he has been handled over the past nine months and, from what I understand, he has internally voiced his pissiness, about which the team is pissed. I don't see Gee pitching for the Mets again. New-ish worry: Is Lucas Duda ever going to start contributing again?
  22. Yeah, like HR angry. We're still waiting on the next dinger.
  23. So...I know I'm going to get blacked out of this Saturday's game against the Yanks (I HATE FOX!!!). That's no big deal, I'll listen to Howie. But, does anyone know what's happening with Friday night's game? This link says that SNY has the broadcast, but my TV listing (DirecTV) has boxing on SNY (but does show the post-game show afterwards). The game is on MLB Network, but I'm afraid I'll either get the alternate game there (Nats game) or the YES broadcast. MY Extra Innings menu shows Yankees @ Mets twice, but both are the YES broadcast. Is SNY showing Friday's game? If not, I guess I'll listen to Howie twice in 24 hours.
  24. Agreed. Although, the Cubs haven't played today's Mets. I don't any part of Pittsburgh.
  25. The Pirates beat the Cubs in game one of a doubleheader today by a score of 5-4. The Mets are now officially in front of the Cubs in the overall NL standings. The Pirates are now only two games back of the Cards....and five up on the Cubs.
