  1. Roy Oswalt was still looking for a job last time I looked. I'm not sure we fit his criteria or can afford his price range, though.
  2. Yeah, I don't know if Schwinden can be successful, but I also don't see any other options right now. That spot will hopefully be a bridge to Young who will hopefully be a bridge to Harvey. Pelf was supposed to be the most likely of the starting rotation to last 200 IP without injury. Things will get really dire if Santana or Niese go down again. I for one was happy to see Johan pitch so well last night. After his last start, I thought he might be hurt.
  3. Edgy DC wrote: More importantly, Matt Harvey is perfect through his first six batters. Now 12. Sandy has said he wouldn't take Pelfrey's spot right now, but the potential hole in the Mets rotation has to provide some motivation for Harvey. And OE: Harvey's hit a 2 run HR. Buffalo is mashing, up 11-0 in the 5th.
  4. The announced attendance was 20,192, the smallest of the season at Citi Field. I'm surprised at this figure for Reyes' return.
  5. Terry after last night's game on PH for Ike: I love Ike Davis. Hes gonna hit and were gonna put this in our past real soon, because hes going to start hitting. But, like I said the other day when I took Frank Francisco out of the game, once in a while its not about one guy its about all 25. He understood. I told him hell be in there (Wednesday). We need him to get going. I'm not sure I agree, but it sounds like Ike will be in the lineup against Buehrle.
  6. Santana 4 Rauch 1 Francisco 1 Niewenhuis 1 Thole 1 Murphy 1 Duda 1
  7. Books! Welcome back, Jose...but I hope you go 0-4 every time I see you.
  8. On MLB.TV, the SNY feed doesn't follow the network back to studio updates...during the last throwback to the studio after Valdespin nervously caught that popup, Keith said, "C'mon...this is the big leagues!"
  9. I've never seen that before. Wow.
  10. There have been some nice defensive plays by the Metsies tonight, It would be a shame if they had to lose the game on not being able to make the play. C'mon, offense.
  11. Nothing but respect for JJ tonight. He and Santana are putting on a pitching clinic.
  12. Those MIA unis are still fugly...and these black ones are the best of the bunch.
  13. Well, that was underwhelming. Nice play by Kirk and Johan looks better than he did last time.
  14. Ceetar wrote: Alderson made it out like they had no idea and needed to see what the next 2-3 days bring. Sounds like Sandy. Fuck me running.
  15. Maybe if Bay were more vest-obsessed, his ribs would be OK. [/rimshot] Get better soon, Jason.
  16. Folks like who?
  17. Bobby O, with Lenny Harris and Roger Cedeno finishing 2nd and 3rd.
  18. Since opening 4-0, the Mets are 4-8. That's a little closer to the 2012 squad I expected...but so far away from the one I wanted. *sigh*
  19. And...we pick up where we left off. 3-0 Gints Mid 1st. You're gonna have to score some runs today, boys.
  20. They shoulda just DFA'd Batista.
  21. Well, if nothing else, the bullpen has looked good during this game. The O has had a lot of opportunities...
  22. Three scoreless from Hef in his ML debut. Nice work, kid.
  23. Wow. That's a couple of nice plays by their 2B. Ike's a mess.
