I also heard that the Mets might add other artifacts in the future. Why? Wouldn't that be a bit redundant? Wouldn't what be redundant? They have plaques of all the inductees, which includes info about WHY said person is in the Mets Hall of Fame (something I hated about the old Diamond Club Lobby setup). Do they really have any need for those old busts to be on display now? Aren't those busts a part of the Mets, you know, history? I'll have a stronger opinion after I've seen the museum first-hand, and have had an opportunity to judge the place, the spacing, how open or cluttered it is, etc., etc. So was Met-tle The Mule and Homer The Dog, but I really would rather them stay in the dustbin of history. While I wouldn't go so far as to exhume the presumably dead beasts in order to display them at the museum, I'm all for representing them in some other manner. A true fan would embrace all of the Mets history, whether good, bad, ugly or comical.
