  1. Hipster nonsense. You're better off without.
  2. This one's a longshot: Elliott Maddox RF & 3B.
  3. Not super confident on this one, but Tim Foli 2B & SS. I think Foli was at second to begin '78 and eventually switched positions with Flynn, which is where they would have started '79. Or not. OE: Kelvin Chapman started at 2B in '79. Flynn, however, had other 2B Opening Day starts later.

I vaguely recall him in RF on Opening Day 1981 however, to go with his many starts in CF.

It would have been 2001. 2000 was Japan with Henderson, Hamilton and Bell -- Benny barely made the team, but sealed his place with his pinch-hit grand slam that won the season's second game. Ok, I'll buy that. How about one of the other multiple interchangeable OFs from the Valentine era that you mention...Darryl Hamilton? I'm pretty sure (but not dead certain) 2000 was Hamilton's only Opening Day start. He was battling injuries in 2001 and Payton was the incumbent CF.
  6. Another uncertain stab: Flynn SS & 2B
  7. I wouldn't bet the ranch or even the ranch dressing on this one, but Ryan Thompson, CF and LF.

  10. Chad Ochoseis wrote: Hubie Brooks, 3B & SS Hubie's conversion to short came late in '84 season upon acquisition of Knight and injury to Santana, and he was gone before Opening Day '85. (Thinking out loud on injuries and timelines.)
  11. Butch Huskey RF & 3B
  12. Ceetar wrote: Jose Reyes Kaz Matsui both started both MI positions I believe. Reyes was injured Opening Day 2004, his 2B year.
  13. Ceetar wrote: hmm. Mike Cameron. Cameon was injured Opening Day 2005, his second year.
  14. Rusty Staub RF & 1B
  15. Jeff Kent 2B & 3B Jose Vizcaino SS & 2B
  16. Vince Coleman LF & CF Bobby Bonilla RF & 3B
  17. Mookie Wilson LF & CF
  18. John Milner 1B & LF Dave Kingman 1B & LF
  19. Hubie Brooks: RF & 3B Ron Hunt: 2B & 3B
  20. Ron Hunt -- two positions. We're looking only for three positions? Hmmm...
  21. Santana 4.5 Davis 3.5 Wright 0.5 Pagan 0.5 Francouer 0.5 Bay 0.5
  22. Davis 2.5 Nieve 1.0 Rodriguez 1.0 Beltran 1.0 Bay 0.5 Barajas 0.5 Pagan 0.5 Thole 0.5
  23. "Let's keep the brooms in the closet" -- sounds vaguely sexual, somehow.
  24. Lookalikes: Unshaven, unsmiling (and lately unhitting) Angel Pagan and onetime Dodger mascot Emmett Kelly.
  25. Flipped briefly to rebroadcast of the MFY Old Timers Game. Mickey Rivers and Rick Cerone look less sluggish than Jason Bay and Rod Barajas. Free Pat Misch. (That's a suggestion, not a giveaway item.)
