From Will Sammon in the Athletic: Ronny Mauricio's surgery for a torn ACL is scheduled for shortly after New Year's Day in New York, a league source said. Those close to him said Mauricio, 22, was in good spirits. Mauricio sustained the right knee injury on Dec. 10 while playing winter ball in the Dominican Republic.

He's aged pretty well. Non-tendering him when we did hasn't. Mets non-tendered four other players along with Turner in the same Swiffering of the roster's dustier crevices: Jeremy Hefner, Scott Atchison, Omar Quintanilla and Jordan's Valdespin. At least those deletions didn't backfire — and no hard feelings from Hefner, apparently. At the time, iI thought the worst-case scenarios regarding any of them would be a https://www.faithandfearinflushing.com/2013/12/05/momentary-lapse-of-season/brief blip upward that the Mets would regret before everybody regressed to non-tenderworthiness. Turner's career certainly had legs that were not widely foreseen. I wouldn't mind him returning.

Ken joined Jay Horwitz along with Hojo and Billy Wagner ahead of Old Timers Day in 2022. A tingling recollection about a 1963 clubhouse game of bridge is a highlight toward the end. [media=youtube]Y2C_20sddDg[/media] Ken was the first Old Timer Howie Rose introduced when the big day came.
