"carlos didnt feel anything happen on one particular play he just didnt feel comfortable tonight" and he doesnt want a recurrence of last year's problem... this is according to Tom McCarthy who just spoke to Jay Horowitz.

I have to believe that the player told Willie he was ready to go tonight. If I'm willie I can't say "no you're not" unless I have the team doctor backing me up, and we simply don't know how that conversation played out.

How is it that Nady was the run-away favorite in the POTG poll but Pedro got the most avg points in the same game? either different people are voting or people are voting inconsistently behind the anonymity of the poll!

yay for beltran! lets steal one of piazza!! ]And I'll gladly accept the "I told you so's" if Matsui is hitting .138 in May. May would be too soon for that, I'm a believer in large sample sizes.

I'd be more than happy to see Kaz succeed, but he hasn;t yet and until he does he doesn't deserve to start full-time, all i asked for Hernandez is a reasonable time to show what he can do (which he hasnt had.) If i were the Mets right now i'd cut Valentin on his ass and call up Keppinger, giving Matsui 4-5 starts a week and Keppinger 2 until one of them shows they deserve more or less than than.
