  1. I would think the bench is Castro, Easley, Anderson, Gotay, Chavez, with one spot open for either Pagan or Valentin, I don't think Saenz makes the team.
  2. yeah i was going by baseball-reference, i wasnt aware there was an age controversy with him.
  3. lets do it. part-time first baseman, top-quality pinch hitter
  4. ughh don't use the S word. I'm pretty worried that if Delgado is seriously hurt the Mets don't have many options.. Jose Valentin, Mike Carp and Michel Abreu don't fill be with confidence at 1st base. I'll give Abreu credit, he was very good at Binghamton last year, but a 27 year old hitting the 21 year olds isn't impressive enough to make me at all confident in him at the major league level.
  5. clark hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, mets win!
  6. Church has a concussion. Mets almost win the game on a double down the line but it gets stuck in the bullpen bench and the runner is forced to stop at 3rd.

thats no excuse. post from work, post from the library, go to an internet cafe!
  8. nice two innings by Parnell. I hope Church and Gotay are ok. instead of "i got it" they need to yell "its just spring training" and back off.
  9. David Wright charges and barehands to throw out juan pierre on a weak grounder. baseball is back!
  10. Angel Pagan with a stolen base!
  11. scoreless in the middle of the 2nd, Johnathan Niece looking good for the Mets with 3 k's through 2 innings and a beautiful curveball.

the newest registered user is: "teenlesbiansex" whats wrong with these people??
  13. I do agree that the Nats were stupid not to play Church more. He is simply a better player than Wily Mo Pena who does not get on base as much. He is also better than the other clowns who were taking time away from him in his 3 years in Washington. Guys like Nook Logan and Marlon Byrd were unnecessarily racking up ABs down there.
  14. well i wonder about loduca because they are again teammates in washington
  15. ]"I can't go through anything worse than I went through in New York. It only gets better from here," Milledge told SI.com. "A lot of veterans (on the Mets) didn't like the way I play the game. They thought I didn't respect it." i wonder if loduca was one of those veterans?
  16. ok so 14 people have signed up and i see no reason to expect significantly more so lets talk rules. anyone with a proposed change open up a thread.
  17. anyone else care to weigh in on this?
  18. draft is 5:45 that day. i suppose you could find an internet cafe or something along those lines if you didnt live in manhattan AND were intent on doing both.
  19. ="KC"] Ny: so when you think someone took steroids<<< I didn't say that. you said: "Clemens was probably a HOF'r before he discovered dancing around on ESPN in his super-gym proclaiming, "no one is doing this, no one is doing this." " i took that to mean you think he's on the roids but was a HOFer beforehand. if your reason for Sosa not being a all of famer is not steroid related then what is it, using Sosa's numbers (either standing alone or compared to other who are in and out) as evidence?
  20. ]Because I said so. riiiiiiight ]Bonds has started in like three times the number of all-star games that Sosa has and Clemens was probably a HOF'r before he discovered dancing around on ESPN in his super-gym proclaiming, "no one is doing this, no one is doing this." so when you think someone took steroids the question then becomes how great were they abovea nd beyond the normal greatness required for the hall? ]And that form of arguing you're using like some sort of junior salamander q wannabe is annoying. how the fuck have i done anything sal-like? you made a statement which i questioned (as well as providing my next question if you gave a certain answer), you've now answered and i've asked a further question, i see no sal-like bait and switch or putting words in your mouth
  21. then look at Maris' first two seasons as a Yankee compared to the rest of his career.
  22. Triple D, when did the following player's PED use start/end? Year 1 91 2 113 3 100 4 119 5 129 6 131 7 147 8 160 9 149 10 140 11 138 12 141 13 107 14 108 15 85 16 96 I give you Bernie Williams, no evidence except a big jump around age 28, PED user.
  23. i was dreading opening this thread, having now opened this thread and seen the logo, i'm dreading seeig it prominently displayed at the stadium.
  24. you're making big assumptions about when the PED use started, if you only want to go by when he got caught then you can't penalize Sosa who never got caught.
  25. Lohse is 28 years old and owns a 95 ERA+ for his career (100 last year) Gil Meche at age 27, coming off a 99 ERA+ and owning a sub-100 mark for his career to that point got a huge contract from the royals. Lohse was a more reliable innings eater as well.
