  1. Word just coming out now that Cespedes has officially rejected. It was such a foregone conclusion that I overlooked that it hadn't actually happened yet.
  2. He had said a few days ago that he was going to wait until the very end.
  3. The decision is due in less than 90 minutes. I wonder if we'll know by 5, or if it will take a bit longer for word to leak out.
  4. They'd be even more infantile if they had those flaps that you unsnap for diaper changes.
  5. I guess if he accepts and they don't in fact want him, he can be traded. Or is there some clause that prevents that until June, or something like that?
  6. Just a reminder, you do get up to three votes in the first round.
  7. I'm really not sure which way I'm rooting. Sure, I'd be glad to have him back for one more year, but I really don't have a sense of how much that $17 million commitment would affect other potential moves.

  9. Maybe he misread it and thinks that Upton would be coming from Toronto?
  10. @JimBowden_ESPN: "#BlueJays are in on Josh Reddick & have discussed a trade with #Mets for Jay Bruce. Working on LH platoon for Upton"
  11. This poll is currently tied. It will be closing in a few days. If you haven't voted yet please do so before Wednesday morning.
  12. Which is the obvious place for it, of course.

  14. Centerfield wrote: I really love how we get to re-live the season with these covers. Even if we weren't voting it's fun to just browse these. I think so too. It's a fun way to recap the events of the past year. As I've said before, I think these covers are their own kind of pop art, and I like having them tell the story of the season. In the first round, the voting is just a bonus. It's in the later rounds, where the nostalgia ends and the gloves come off, that it becomes all about the voting, and shit gets real!

  16. And if we were to have a "Memories of Bartolo Colon's Home Run" thread, I'd chime in about how the Mets emptied the dugout while Bartolo was rounding the bases. And when he entered the dugout, the team swarmed back in to greet him, led by a beaming Asdrubal Cabrera. I think that may have been the first glimmer of my eventual Asdrubalmania.
  17. So Bartolo leaves us on the day that his home run is current in the Tabloid Cover Derby.
  18. Poor Little Sexy.
  19. Or Matt Wisler!
  20. Oh well. I figured he was likely gone. He turned out to be an essential part of the Mets in 2016. I hope we don't end up needing him nearly as much next season as we did this season.
  21. Yeah, I agree. I think Colon is more likely to leave than to stay.
  22. This poll, due to close on Sunday morning, is currently tied. If you haven't voted yet and care to vote, please remember to do so today or tomorrow. If the tie persists, a tiebreaker poll will be posted on Sunday.

  24. Bruce. He probably has more trade value, and hasn't fit in as well as Curtis has. Trading Conforto now would be selling low.
