  1. Oh, I'm so sorry! I was misinformed. You actually need to report to Bangor, Maine. We do apologize for any inconvenience.
  2. Edgy MD wrote: There actually is a second film, The Spy Behind Home Plate, a documentary by Aviva Kempner. And perhaps I should check that out. I TOTALLY should check that out. My girlfriend's late grandfather (whom I never met) worked with Moe Berg in Italy during the war and was interviewed for that film. If you find it streaming anywhere, please let me know.
  3. Congratulations on being the first to pick up on this year's theme! Your prize will be a box of Rice-A-Roni, the San Francisco Treat. You may pick it up in person at our distribution center in Bangalore, India.
  4. For the seventh time in seven years, the New York Post will not be the winner of the Tabloid Cover Derby.

  9. I believe there's a strap on the back of the sign. I'd ask Shelby about it myself, if not for the restraining order.
  10. I agree. David Wright, then no one else until deGrom (potentially).

  12. No. Marissa called in sick so Shelby had to quickly clone herself.
  13. If we're looking for a cover that's emblematic of the season, LFGM is probably as good as it gets. This is the cover that I'm going to ride with the rest of the way.
  14. I'm really surprised by the persistence of the narrative about how the Mets screwed up by not keeping Ray Knight. He had a mediocre year with Baltimore in 1987 and a terrible year with Detroit in 1988, and then he was done.
  15. I first read that as "SNL" not "SNY". THAT would also be interesting.
  16. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=84455 time=1642005650 user_id=68] There's a third option here: no on retirement but yes on the mothballs. I woudn't vote for that option, though. Put #8 back in rotation!
  17. For the record, I'm one of the NO votes. So far, NO leads YES by a count of 6 to 1.
  18. This is a straight-up yes-or-no question. Continuing to keep number 8 in mothballs is not an option. Number 8 either gets retired or goes back into full circulation. What's your decision? https://mlb.nbcsports.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/7/2012/02/2182145_crop_650x440.jpg>
  19. But a life-long association with the Mets. Don't know if that counts.
  20. Today's poll, featuring LET'S FINALLY GET MAD against IT TAKS A VILLAR is the final poll of the third round, a round which will reduce our field of sixteen covers down to eight. We'll now wait a week for all polls to close before we begin the fourth round, which will determine our Final Four.

  23. In seven years now, we've only had one unanimous head-to-head poll.
