2-1 Metsies after three on a first-inning ConfortoBOOM...

Questions:
Is this game being played in slow motion?
Why do we care if Hoskins gets his first major league hit? SNY is covering this like he's a Met.
Not that it really matters but if the Walker deal was decided upon at around 6 PM last night, why isn't McGowan with the team by now?

Yes, but 4-1/2 innings (1/2 a game) in approx 1:35 actually qualifies as just about normal these days.
Twelve of the 15 games played yesterday were over three hours, eight of them came in north of 3:10, so what was once a rarity is now the norm.

What a lovely cheap double play with the bases loaded.

That one was even worse than what the BoSox "accomplished" on Friday after Reed blew up their lead in the 8th.
Aroldis Chapman started the 9th by walking the first three hitters. Then came a Sac Fly to LF to cut the lead to one but the runner on 2nd decides to tag also and is thrown out at 3rd (for the rare SF-DP)
One out later the Sox had lost by one.

Young Dom does have a nice ability to get bat on ball.
He's making square contact nearly each time even if it's not always the hardest contact.

I liked that hit by Cabrera. Rips a foul down the left-field line. Rips a foul down the right-field line. Then he drives one off the pitcher.

Kevin McGowan, welcome to the Mets!

Big guy 6'5 233 lbs.

Are we positive that it wasn't Gsellman?

Old baseball saying, he "uses the whole field".

Today's 6-2 win was the Mets' 100th regular-season 6-2 win in their 56-year history. Celebrate with a six-pack...and a couple of shots.

That is kinda sad. Only 100 6-2 wins? But I know there are a lot of different score combos...

If it earns us a six-pack AND two shots, how can it be sad?
