Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 The Mets are at risk of sweeping their first series since April 12, when they completed a three game sweep at CBP to go to 6-3 on the year, raising some concerns that the team might finish above .500 and possibly even make a run at the NL East. Rafael Montero, who has given up one run in his last two appearances in relief, totaling 6 2/3* innings, goes up against Matt Moore. 4:05 start. *Remember when people used to refer to that as "6.2 innings"? That would drive me bonkers.

That would drive me bonkers. That's still a thing. You see 6.2 in stats and box scores. For the UMDB, I had to invent a new kind of "innings math" in order to properly add up player stats. I had to make it so that 1.2 + 2.2 = 4.1 instead of 3.4.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 All this winning sucks bhmc.
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Not-so-fun-fact: Montero has a worse WHIP this year than Kevin Plawecki.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Céspedes docks it for a day game after an early evening game. bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 This one has all the makings of a bad game: last game of a road trip, it's Sunday afternoon, Montero pitching, Yo out... but it's already 1-0 Mets (even without a hit)!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Sunday afternoon debacles usually happen at home, but I hear you.On the other hand, we've got René Rivera acting like the Willie Mays of catchers.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Whoever is telling this Slater guy where to position himself is owed a raise. Mets tattooing the ball but Slater making the catches.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 That two-run home run from Rene Rivera really bit the big one. We're going to totally regret it.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Conforto batting seventh against the lefty... but Bruce is third?Slater in left field makes things... um... interesting with that route-efficiency.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Was bound to happen, prolly. Even the outs have been loud.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Brandon Belt does what everybody should be doing against the shift.Everybody.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 This error allowing for two guys in scoring position with nobody out and the heart of the order due up is about the worst thing that's happened to this club in weeks.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 You know, as crazy as this sequence of pitches has been for Montero, Rivera has been setting up his target off the plate on almost everything.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Stupid Hunter Pence is ruining this whole season for the Mets by getting caught stealing for the third out.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Thanks A LOT, Rene Rivera, for having the best game of your career today. Now what are we going to do?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Mets are really getting good cuts against this guy.Besides Duda, that is.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Either Montero is trying to fool the Wilps too, or we just witnessed his most growed-up inning ever.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Span looked like crap on that double by Wilmer, like he either lost sight of it or he just doesn't have the extra gear he used too.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 This whole series I've been seeing the sign behind the plate advertising the SAMARDZIJA SHARK SNOWGLOBE. Had to go looking for what that might be.Poor drowning Jeff Samardzija.
