Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Matt Harvey, veteran of many skirmishes, bearer of many scars, faces perhaps his greatest nemesis yet: TBD.I was surprised by the digital schedule on display Tuesday night that suggested Keith Hernandez was expected to return. That would be surprising, but hey, Yoenis, take a hint! Keith is 63 and recovering from a partial knee replacement! With Matz and Lugo expected to get the bump later in the series, Gsellman allegedly joins the bullpen. Still holding my breath for some hot new lineup action.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I think Keith is penciled in for the Chicago series starting Monday at home.Don't think he's going to travel to hot 'lanta for this one unless he was already down there for the Gregg Allman services or something. One never knows who Keith knows.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 That T.B. Dee has a filthy slider. Filthy, I tell ya.(tomorrow is the 9th)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2017 Author Posted June 9, 2017 I typed that shit. I did. But it didn't take.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Per cbs TBD is, wait for it, Julio Teheran. Nooooooo
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2017 Author Posted June 9, 2017 I fear no Julio Teheran. Or any pitcher the Braves throw at the Mets. Heck, if anything, I delight in opposing lefthanders' increased ability to keep Curtis Granderson out of the lineup. What I fear for the Mets is them beating themselves.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Worth noting (especially with the impending return of Yo): Granderson has been hitting lefties and everyone else much, MUCH better than Bruuuuuce since April's end. Like, nearly 200 points of OPS better. Hell, HR numbers be damned, he's even outslugging the guy. Also worth noting: a Cespedes-Granderson-Conforto OF is likely much better defensively than a Ces-Conforto-Bruce one.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 I mean, I'd be good with that. (Not exclusively, but at least partly because of the increased amount of deep flies and liners our staff seems to be giving up this year.) But, y'know, the powers-t-b?

And my rooting interest remains a Nimmo-Lagares platoon in center. The problem with advocating for trades remains, as always, the vagaries of the market.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2017 Author Posted June 10, 2017 That Enciarte play had some Lagares polish. That shot was never more than 30 feet off the ground.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2017 Author Posted June 10, 2017 Hey, Harvey made a semi-tough play!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2017 Author Posted June 10, 2017 Harvey's at 104? Keep going. At least until he gives up a baserunner.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 With some S(h)oddy footing below him.
