Looking over his shoulder was almost certainly the difference.

Franco looks stiff and stinky at third. Mets should exploit that.

He was bookin' tho. Wasn't doggin' it.

He wasn't booking it as fast as he would have been had he not been looking behind him while trying to run.

AND HE SLID!! -- Well, there's that I suppose.

New York making Velasquez look like he's a good pitcher. He's not.

Phils threatening in the 4th, runners on the corners.

Game is not even half over and they already have a hit!
Of course that hit also ended an inning and killed the [crossout:7an5lbgp]best[/crossout:7an5lbgp] only scoring chance they had, but baby steps.

We're lucky it was just the one.

So, Duda's wrist is a thing, then?

Watching on Comcast; so far not very exciting.

Who is the Mets shortstop HR leader?

Too soon to say. It didn't look that bad to me but he was in obvious pain after the play. Flores takes 1st base.

It's not Duda's wrist - it's his elbow :(

You go. I mean, looking back at Gsellman, is sliding for suckers or something?

Great homer, but too much mailing it in, man.

It was Gsellman not sliding, Cespedes not running, the whole team not hitting, two players going down in the same half-inning, and just the whole suckitude of the team which was just about to totally deplete
my brief spate of optimism earlier this afternoon.

... and now Gsellman not bunting!!

Did Gsellman mostly get to bat there because of the shorto bencho?

Conforto was on deck to PH but when the bunt was in order TC went with Gsellman, who couldn't get the bunt down.

If the injuries to two big power sources are more week-to-week than day-to-day, I feel like we may be about to have some... other issues forced.

Lead off doubles suck. But this could be a huge bounce back for Jerry!
