Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Me and Logan, we were rock-solid back in 2015. We were what Robert Gsellman and Seth Lugo were last year. We were that pitching depth you weren't counting on being there, sorta even suspected that you didn't deserve, but were delighted to find out you had just when you needed it.But once you took for granted that you had that pitching depth ... it was GONE! Logan and me, me and Logan, contributed bupkis to the 2016 squad. Logan's now gone, and frankly, I feel kinda guilty. That coulda been me. And you know, other than the fact that God made my left arm my dominant one, maybe it shoulda been me.But it wasn't. And you know what that means? I think it means the Mets saw something. That they still see something. Something shiny and blue and glowing and good. Do you see anything anymore? Because I'm still here, but they ain't exactly telling me to do my warmups with the first unit down here in St. Lucie.[fimg=321]http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Sean+Gilmartin+New+York+Mets+v+Colorado+Rockies+RM-2NBSMFShl.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=379]http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/2015/07/19/images/mlbf_271957283_th_43.jpg[/fimg][fimg=397]http://hubmesh.com/uploads/gossip/2016/10/23/kayleigh-mcenany-madly-loves-her-boyfriend-sean-gilmartin-see-their-romantic-relationship.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=303]http://mlb.mlb.com/assets/images/2/9/8/166565298/cuts/GettyImages_490865064_vnnhnwha_qz05zjdq.jpg[/fimg]
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 It just seems like yesterday when they picked him in the Rule V Draft, then kept him on the major league roster as a reliever all season. He was pretty good that year. Then, (it was said) they would be able to send him to AAA to re-stretch him out as a starter. He's not good enough as a starter to replace any of their top tier starters or prospects. And he hasn't blossomed as a lights out short reliever, either. He doesn't seem to be as advanced as they might have thought he'd be, so I see him bouncing up and down between the majors and AAA until he can prove himself in one role or the other. Or until they find somebody better.Later
