Seeking a cure for his nerve damage, he explores the DARK ARTS of the EAST, only to find himself newly empowered and caught up in a war between forces beyond his wildest reckoning.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 I enjoyed it. Three stars.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 solid I thought. First movie i've seen in the theaters in a while and I felt old about it after seeing all the tech advances, I'll elaborate on that later.Lots of crazy multi-verse stuff and some inception-like weirdness. I had fun.

Three stars. Is three out of five stars, just above average, strong enough for an "I enjoyed it" summary?I feel like my response was a little less warm than that, but I look back and I see I gave it 3.5 stars.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Maybe I could have given it three and a half. But definitely not four.I go to these movies faithfully, as a favor to the ten-year-old boy that I used to be, who would have been beyond thrilled at seeing these characters on the big screen. But they're rarely as good as I'd like them to be.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 i mostly enjoyed this one. Cumberbatch was perfect, and they nailed all the elements of the Dr. Strange universe, from the cape, to the eye of agamatto, to the Ditko-esque universe of Dormammu. I didn't love the INCEPTION-like visual effects, but other than that, it was spot on.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 19, 2016 Author Posted November 19, 2016 I'm agreeing to the letter. The problem is, for big chunks of the proceedings, those effects are the point of the film.
