ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 We saw Shipley once before and struck out 7 in 3 innings.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Cespedes back thursday.Asdrubal Cabrera begins a rehab assignment today.Any word on Wheeler?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Cespedes will rejoin the team on Thursday, but he can't be activated until Friday (from what I understand). As for Wheeler, they're starting to say things like, "Sometimes Tommy John surgery doesn't work." That's clearly not a good sign.

That's clearly not a good sign. That he's had several setbacks already is the bad sign. Mets are saying he's seeing Andrews for his own peace of mind. He had his surgery performed by Altchek who has given assurances that it all went well and his arm is structurally sound & stuff.Anyway his meeting with Andrews is Wednesday.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Pitch around Goldschmidt. Or use the old remedy against a hot hitter (as per Jim Brosnan's book The Long Season), "hit him in the knee, then pick him off first base".Later

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Remember, Noah. You don't have to throw nine no-hit innings. Seven is fine.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I wish this Bourne had amnesia and forgot he's playing the Mets
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Keith met David Segui up a mountain earlier today , as Gary said what are the odds?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Haniger taking the piss trying to sell a walk, gets strike 3 on a 99mph heater , thus begins his MLB career.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Arizona stealing with ease and Keith is exasperated
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I don't know how many different uniforms the DBacks have, but they all suck. It's like they're trying to use every gimmick all at once.

Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 And the caps they wore last night, with the printing on top of the cap -- awful!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 SNY TriviaWho are the only three pitchers to face Keith 100 or more times?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Rivera drives the ball to the wall and a great catch from Bourne, Rivera scores from third.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 That was the second opportunity this week for De Aza to try to tag two bases.Instead, zero?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Hey I look at it this way: we had two on with none out and, for a change, didn't get shut-out for the inning!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 A Synderbomb. That's the stuff, right there.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Finally a NYM pitcher realizes the only way he's going to get to pitch with a lead.

And tagging there and then having to stop at 3rd if it dropped is by far the bigger sin.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I've never even seen someone try, but it's one of the plays I hope to see before I die.Meanwhile, the Mets hit for the cycle that inning.
