Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Wow. Somebody just passed Darren and Jeremy and Steve became second in our All-Time Reed Rankings. You hear those footsteps, Rick?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 A lot of folks giving the home plate ump an earful over his low strike zone tonight.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Loney punched out on a pretty low called third strike, but you have to protect the plate with 2 strikes.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 The low strike strikes again. Two more.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Another low (and ooutside as well) called third strike. This one to the Mets benefit.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Maddon might have a beef. But I'm not complaining.2!
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 And the Reds just pulled two runs up on the Nats in extras!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Nats lose. Thaaaaaa Nats lose!!Cincy notches 5 in the 10th, mostly at the expense of reliever Sammy Solis but, really, there were several Washington errors, passed balls, and just general fuck-ups.Reds were without Votto tonight and even with Votto they're still the Reds so the Nats losing one to them is like found money.Wonder if they had fireworks after the game. The show was scheduled for Friday night and they even moved up the start time an hour to 6:05 in order to get them in. But rain delays and an overall long game pushed the end of the game passed the hour where DC allows fireworks to go off so at some point during Friday's game they had to announce to the paid crowd that there would be no show after the game. The best laid plans ...And, as noted elsewhere, the Braves put a whuppin' on Jose Fernandez -- 9 runs over 6 innings -- so that pus the Fish a bit further back in the rearview.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 What an exciting game. That's 7 in a row by Terry over Maddon, the alleged genius.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Reed & Familia last night faced: [AR] Bryant - Rizzo - Contreras - Montero - Russell - [JF] Baez - Ross - Zobrist (slots #3-1 in the lineup)Two of them hit fair balls, a ground single and a ground-out. K - 1B - K - K - K - K - GO - Foul-outThat's some nice closing in a one-run game.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 nice night to be in the park with my family... great seats, nice weather, close game, big win, and a good fireworks show. The only irksome thing (other than parking) was the Cubs fan sitting right behind us. He was making all sorts of noise after the Rizzo HR, and somebody yelled out "sit down!", to which he replied, "i AM sitting!", to which i replied "sit quieter," to which replied "I'll be quiet when we stop hitting homers", to which i replied... nothing. I didn't say anything else. I let the Mets do the talking, and when I turned around at the end, Cubbie was gone. Maybe i just imagined him.
