Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Was January '08 the bringing-back-Pagan trade? IIRC, that was 2-3 minor leaguers who turned into nuttin' heading Chicago-way.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Pagan it was for a minor league outfielder called Corey Coles. I can remember fans being very unhappy with that move but what a steal: Probably Omar's best trade? Thanks all for playing LAST TRADE WITH!No.DATETEAMRECIEVEDTRADED AWAY17/27/01PHIBruce ChenDennis Cook, Turk Wendell24/4/04STLWilson DelgadoRoger Cedeno37/30/04TBRVictor Zambrano and that Bartolome Fortunato guyKazmir, Jose Diaz48/27/04HOUAdam SuessDan Wheeler512/3/04MFYFelix HerediaMike Stanton61/22/06BALJorge Julio, John MaineKris & Anna Benson711/20/06FLAJason VargasLindtstrom, Owens812/6/06KCRAmbiorix BurgosBrian Bannister98/20/07CINJeff ConineJose Castro & Sean Henry101/5/08CHCAngel PaganCorey Coles112/2/08MINJohan SantanaCargo, Guerra, Humber, Mulvey12t12/11/08CLEJack ShitJoe Smith12t12/11/08SEA3 pieces of shit: Putz, Reed, Sean GreenHeilman, Chavez, Vargas, Carp, Cleto, Carerra, probably more guys145/30/09CWSLance BroadwayRamon Castro158/31/10TEXJuaquin AriasFrenchy Francoeur1612/27/10LADChin-lung HuMike Antonini177/12/11MILTiny HererraDick-Rod1812/7/11SFGRamon Ramiez, Andres TorresAngel Pagan198/14/12BOSKelly Shop-VacPedro Beat-o2012/17/12TORSyndergaard, Buck, d'Arnaud, BecerraDickey, Thole, Nickeas216/18/13COLYoung JuniorCollin n' Buzzy McHugh226/25/13ANAKyle JohnsonColin Cowgill234/18/14*PITZack ThorntonIke Davis24t3/30/15SDPAlex TorresCarmine Ronzonni24t3/30/15WASJerry BlevinsMatt den Dekker267/24/15ATLUribe and JohnsonGant & Whalen277/31/15DETYoenis CespedesFulmer + Cessa288/4/15OAKO'FlahertySome guy from the minors298/30/15AZDAddison ReedMiller Diaz, Matt Koch*-excluding Walker-Niese
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Hard to think of young Angel Pagan as anything but a Met, having seen him at the dawn of the Cyclones. It is my theory that he was in the midst of a baserunning drill at PSL and wandered so far from first that he wound up in Chicago. The Cubs eventually returned him and the Mets were so grateful, they gave them a random minor leaguer as a reward. "It's not much," Omar said, "but we insist you take it. Now Angel, you gave us such a fright -- don't ever do that again!"But it was too late. Angel had already gone hiding in the bathroom just off the Met dugout.
