Guest themetfairy Guests Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Dillon Gee has signed a minor league contract with the Royals. What do we remember about him?He was a good guy, and an oftentimes effective pitcher in his time with the Mets. He was one of those guys who was constantly signing autographs. The Mets must have had something against him this year, because they gave his Number 35 to Logan Verrett the minute that Gee was gone. A decent back of the rotation guy who will hopefully bounce back from his recent struggles (except for when the Royals are playing the Mets).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Was it Spitty who sat next to Kari Anne during his debut or some such?Way too cherubic a face for his demonic beard thing.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 He had the equivalent of one great season starting with his May 30, 2013 [7.1 IP / 4-Hit / 12-K] gem vs the Yanx. That started a string of nearly 30 starts thru early '14 where his stats were as good just about anyone. Then he missed two months and was never really the same afterward.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Worked hard. But his major problem is that he isn't a hard thrower- probably can still have a career somewhere between Ed Lynch or Steve Traschell if he stays healthy.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Took the hill Opening Day 2014 against Stephen Strassburg. Performed passably, but tired in the seventh, giving up an RBI double to Anthony Rendon, who came around to score the tying run against the Mets bullpen. The Mets bullpen ultimately coughed it up in extra innings, one of only two Opening Day losses in the last ten for the Flushings.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I was never his biggest fan. Hated the ridiculous beard, didn't care for his politics, and while waiting for him to turn into a pumpkin for three years I sort of missed appreciating a pretty good stretch there.Got ridiculously deep in the doghouse last season. Considering how desperate they were for 6th starters, let him rot out in Vegas and gave his number away. Ouch!Adios, Dillon Gee Your Hairs Smells Terrific

Dillon, we need to talk about the hand that feeds.
