Did we not lose to the Dodgers in the 1988 NLCS and the Braves in 1999?

Yes. And the Cardinals in '06. I'm not sure what you're asking me.

I was wondering who should get first pitch duties. The last NLCS hero makes the most sense, thought I. But then I realized the Mets last NLCS MVP was Mike Hampton, and I didn't think the forgiveness was all that strong among the fan base.

Then I suddenly realized, that despite the Mets being an impressive 4-for-5 in NLCS series over their history, Hampton is their only NLCS MVP. The honors went to an opposing player in 1986, and the award hadn't been established yet in 1973 and 1969.

So Hampton it is!

Maybe Tejada if he could hobble out there

I'm switching between this and PSU/OSU football. Hubby already snoring away so he won't know I changed the ratio from mostly PSU to mostly Mets

Lester is supposed to be scary according to some things I've been reading. Pedro says Lester has pedigree. I don't see it.

I remember Lester beating us as a rookie with Boston. Was a real bulldog then. I don't give a crap about him anymore but I'm sure he's about to lose.

Didn't they say it was about 45 degrees? That's chilly, to be sure. But Maddon and some of the Cubs are dressed like they're ready for snow.

It's weird not finding any members of the opposing team to dislike -- no Gonzo, no Fat Leprechaun, no Mutley, no J-roll, no Madonna. Even feel mildly sympathetic to their fans.

Quite frankly, it's deflating.

wow. Harvey's on!

I wasn't nervous before the homer, now I'm nervous. I don't get it.

It was 45 degrees for the start of the game and it will undoubtedly get colder as the game progresses, but all the Mets need to do to keep warm is stand near Murphy's bat. Es en el fuego.

At least when Duda strikes out, there's only one out. Not liking the Cuddyer switch.

Baez would be in ER now if Utley was the baserunner.

Lucky for Baez and the Cubs that Utley wasn't running from first. He would have "put body" on him for sure. Doesn't matter that he was 7-8 feet from second base when he made the throw.

On edit: Only took three tries to submit this post.
