Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Nice job by Colin McHugh tonight. Hafta say I'm impressed with how the Astros have played so far this postseason.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Loose, well-taken ABs, solid starting, great relief and baserunning... they're looking like their early-season selves, only with the ability to not poop themselves on the road. And Rasmus is looking as much like a postseason superhero as he looked like a cartoon supervillain the other night.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Oliver Perez relieving Scott Kazmir for the Astros in some sort of bizarro world where former Mets you'd think would be retired by now are still pitching for a playoff team.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Yes, that's the Ollie Perez we remember so well....

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Oh man!Carlos Gomez, in to pinch-run, down by a run with one out in the 9th, gets picked off 1st before a pitch is even thrown to the next batter.Doesn't help that the batter was Altuve, Houston's best contact hitter.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 And Altuve grounds out - and just like that the series is tied 1-1
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 A. J. Pierzynski is annoying no matter what he is doing.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Hmmmmm, turns out that a ball off the roof of the Dome in Houston is a live ball.Rasmus just singled off the rafters in RF for the Astros.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Royals become the latest team to get screwed by a replay catching a runner's foot coming off a base for a split second as he came out of his slide.3-2 Houston, bottom 7
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) In the meantime, KC was down 6-2 but put up a 5-spot in the 8th and are now looking to close out the Astros in bottom 9oe: whoops, it's still top-9 and KC isn't done tacking on. Edited October 12, 2015 by Guest
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Hosmer homer pushes it to 9-6.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Lots of times, especially with these AL playoffs, I don't have a rooting interest going in but as things get towards the end I find myself pulling for one side or the other.I just discovered tonight that I'm pulling for the Royals in this one. Not sure why, but I am.And conveniently "my team" has just taken the lead.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 The Cueto trade looked shaky for much of the second half of the season, but it paid off tonight.Blue Jays at KC for the AL crown starting Friday night.
