Every year I put up a poll to survey which teams you expect will play in this year's fall classic. Whether you use cold-hard statistical analysis or a gut feeling, select the two teams you expect to see play in the World Series. Remember that is a prediction of the two most likely pennant winners, not your personal preference (that will be another poll).

I want the Mets to play any team not wearing pinstripes.

I expect to see the Pirates and Blue Jays square off.

I'm really not expecting the Mets to get past the Dodgers.

Of course, I hope I'm wrong. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Mets surprised me. (If that makes sense.)

Has anyone noticed that there still has never been a World Series between two expansion teams? This year, the Mets are the only expansion team from the National League that has made the postseason, and the Yankees are the only American League team that's NOT an expansion team.

Which means that if the Mets win the pennant, and the Yankees don't (which is the ideal scenario) we'll have the first-ever all-expansion World Series.

Mets vs. Astros World Series is just weird. Of course, Brewers vs. Astros would be weirder should such a thing ever happen.
