Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 How many precedents are there for Kirk Nieuwenhuis? How many men have been with the Mets twice in a season while playing for another Major League team in between? The only one that comes to mind is Greg McMichael, who I otherwise sometimes conflate with Craig McMurtry.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Wow, I didn't realize Nieuwenhuis joined the Recidivist Mets club, a group nobody's signed up for since early in 2010 when both Gary Matthews and Mike Jacobs returned. Pedro Feliciano cleverly clearing all major league rosters between multiple Mets stints doesn't count (he always was pure of heart).I thought Frank Lary or Jeff Tam might answer your question, but they were consecutive years.Good catch!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 Somehow Chris Schwinden started and finished 2012 as Mets property while joining three other organizations in between, but didn't quite manage to pull off the trick.
